After messing around on YouTube for a while last week, I ended up (as I always do if I'm on the site long enough) stumbling upon this video:

As of Wednesday evening, Troy Polamalu's entry on Wikipedia (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_Polamalu#College_career) included a reference to the "brutal" hit on Lockett. It read as follows:
* * *
College career
In his career as a 3-year starter at the University of Southern California, Polamalu recorded 278 tackles (29 for losses), 6 interceptions (3 returned for TDs), 13 deflections, 2 fumble recoveries and 4 blocked punts. He was voted All-American first-team selection by The NFL Draft Report, Associated Press, Walter Camp, Football News, CBS Sportsline and ESPN, earning second-team honors from The Sporting News during his senior season. In 2001, he was named USC's MVP Award, led team with 118 tackles (79 solo), including 13 for losses (with a 2-yard sack) and six passes defended. Sadly, his reputation was tarnished by unsportsmanlike plays, such as a brutal hit on Kansas State's Aaron Lockett before Lockett was able to receive a punt. He was also a roommate to current Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer and current New England Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel. He majored in general studies.

Since then, the USC lovers have censored this entry. As of right now, I changed it back, but it will likely get edited out again. This post is a plea to those who remember this hit to prevent such revisionist history by keeping a (somewhat) vigilant check on this and re-correcting the entry as it gets censored again.
Also, on a related note, I can't help but smile at this clip:
