The Heat was able to stay competitive to the waning minutes because of a solid finishing kick from forward Michael Beasley, who closed with 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting, including 16 in the fourth quarter.

23 points and 5 rebounds

Game observations from the same newspaper site:
• If ever there seemed like a time for more Michael Beasley, this was it. The aggression was there this time. He nearly single-handedly kept the Heat afloat late.

• Spoelstra again went early with Daequan Cook off the bench in place of Mario Chalmers, which had Dwyane Wade at point guard in the first quarter.

• It reached the point that Spoelstra reached for Chris Quinn early in the third quarter in place of Chalmers, in the hope of finding someone to guide the offense. Three minutes later, that bit of nostalgia was called off.

• Chalmers, by contrast, had one first-half assist and four turnovers over the opening two periods.

Fan comments near unanimous, >>>>>>> Beaz and O'Neal trade sucks.
