why is our volleyball team suddenly no good

i dont really follow this closely but its nice to have all your sports doing well.  whats the deal here?  this team probably wont make the ncaa's for the first time in a long while.  young team?  no talent?  everyone else in the league improving?  just wondering.

Alot of youth. Key injury to one of our hitters (Rita Lilliom).  Only one senior starting (Sandi Werner).
