wow. it's like a time machine. seriously.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

The moral of the story is when you get a chance, you gotta close.

Most teams don't get four shots in twenty years like we did.   :dunno:

kind of funny. a&m was #10, and we acted like they were some slouch. that was a really good team.

Was in grade school at the game, all I remember is being   :'( then the pops made us drive all the way back to Manhattan that night. Truly tested my  :kstatriot: at a young age.
“Nobody plays harder than Kansas State.  Bilas said that to me in person,” Martin said. Now, does that mean that I’m happy every day?  No, because it’s our job to continue to get those guys to continue to grow.”

they had just lost to Ricky and the  :hornsdown IIRC, who we killed

Not to mention we made so many mistakes and still controlled the game

Sad that  :fatgino:, lil Stoops, and Venzy sabotaged the team @ the end of the season

I'd post things from when I was 7 years old, but I don't think there were video cameras.  If there was...it required two bags...one camera and one VCR bag.

EDIT:  Nevermind here is something from that year.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bC8aCymVnwo

they were good. loaded w/talent. texas was a much better team by the end of the season.

we were still better than aTm. the coaches did f*ck us over.

And we had killed them the year before - basically the same teams.  I think the year before was the year A/M got -44 rushing yards against our D.

If you have a chance, watch the Cats vs Purdue bowl game from that year.  Our defense played "LIGHTS OUT", the Offense mailed the check in for the night.  Venables and Mike Stoops deserve credit for coaching the heck out of the defense that bowl game after they'd already accepted the positions at OU.  Great comeback by Brees but if the Offense had even contributed it would've been over early....just like every other game that year minus the A&M game.

Yeah, I seem to remember being soundly outplayed in just about every facet of that game.  Guess maybe my rage-fueled massive consumption of alcohol may have skewed my memory a bit more than I thought.

That's still not a "LIGHTS OUT" game (in all caps) for the '98 defense.  And they gave up that last touchdown pretty easily after KSU took the lead in the 4th quarter.  Subpar.
