A shiny turd is still a turd.
Don't be an idiot. The "K" is an amazing place to watch baseball.
You apparently haven't been to a lot of MLB ballparks.
I have seen baseball games at The K, Busch stadium, Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium, Coors field, Dodger Stadium and Detroit's stadium. (forgot the name of it) I have seen some of the biggest baseball parks in history and I can honestly say (not being biased) that Kauffman stadium is the nicest place to watch a baseball game from what I have visited.
New Busch Stadium is better. There's not a bad sight line in the whole park. Fenway and old Yankee Stadium are decades old and obviously magnificent in their history. The (sorta) new ballpark in Detroit, Comeria is first rate.

Considering most parks of its era have been torn down because they sucked big-time, the K is doing outstanding. Does it have the charm of Fenway or Wrigley? No. Is it as cool-retro as Camden Yards? No. Does it fill its need and still look like its fairly new park with an amazing look with fountains and the giant crown scoreboard among other amenities? Yes. The only major knock is the lack of things to do around it.
The place was built in the early 70's. Before the renovations, it looked awful from outside (on the home plate side). It looked like a pile of concrete. Now, with the renovations, someone else correctly said it looks like a spaceship landed. Reminds me way too much of the newly renovated Soldier Field.
They should have imploded the place and put the park downtown like every other self-respecting MLB town.
