What a wonderful start to a career for that dude.
I'd much rather have a 69 year old coach than one that weighs 400+ pounds.

What amazes me more that Kiffin (Former USC coach) and Sarkisian (Former USC coach) once away from the evil empire (USC) and don't know the rules. Interesting that the only thing to come from the evil empire was the Reggie Bush thing and boy the NCAA has really followed up on that one.

Kinda shocks me that USC gets all of these great recruits and when their off shoots try to use perhaps the same tactics (my own speculation) they get nailed by the NCAA. Folks - you can give Pete Carroll all the fellacio you want... nobody is that good for that long - and yeah - I know, the Pac-10 is kinda weak but here are some examples: Barry Switzer looked like the second coming of Christ when it came to coaching OU back in the day - then we find out that the program was filty; The Fab Five at Michigan taking all that $$; I think it was SMU that the NCAA gave the death penalty to; and finally the two-for - Kelvin Sampson at OU THEN at Indiana. Me thinks that if Carroll ever leaves (or maybe while still there) some crap will go down.

USC doesn't really have to recruit, so it doesn't surprise me that the assistant coaches don't have a good handle on the rules. If you are a great player from California, your first choice is either USC or UCLA.

well that is BS.  USC doesnt have to recruit against KSU, but they do against UT, UF, FSU, Penn St and now Miami again.  USC even has to work the local agaisnt UCLA and Cal.  Its a different type of recruting for sure, not playing time but paying time.
