That is a blogger's opinion that YB is the worst everyday player. Keith Law (KC Royals hater) spent 4½ years with the Toronto Blue Jays as a Special Assistant to the General Manager, I mean WTF? Just because you get coffee for the GM in Canada doesn't mean your an expert about baseball. Keith writes for a blog on ESPN & not a column.

YB makes us proud  :royals: :dancin: :woohoo: :excited:

Okay, so lets see what other people think of the deal.

Here's a Mariners' blogger.

Most of us would be walking away from this one with smiles on our faces just because we rid ourselves of the enigma that is Yuniesky Betancourt. It’s a little odd that we also happen to be trading him to a team with a history of shortstop enigmas, and in a city with a storied barbecue scene to boot, but while Royals fans will be left to puzzle over the aftermath, we came out pretty good even with the cash sent their way.

Here's Joe Posnanski's take on the trade.

Lots of good stats in that article

And at the end of the day, I guess, it’s pretty simple to sum up: The Royals are team that cannot field, hit, hit with power, run or walk. They just traded for a player who cannot field, hit, hit with power, run or walk. I’m just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round — I really love to watch them roll.

It was a terrible move.

"Worst everyday player"  is replacing "Worst player in the Majors."  I consider that an improvement to the team, no matter how you slice it.

While I agree with this, I still don't like the move. We should've gone after Alcides Escobar from the Brewers system. He's blocked by JJ Hardy and we probably could've gotten him.

Some fans are complete retards, you go from a crappy ss to something that is an improvement.  I'd like to see what impossible target others wanted.

True, but giving up one of the Royals better pitching prospects is what sucks here...

Just reading all the blogs and columns that have been put out, it really sounds like the crap has hit the fan.  I wouldnt be surprised if Gibbons is managing this team before the season ends.

No, Ponson will be back in the rotation, not Davies.

And the Betancourt trade isn't what the doctor ordered. Being an improvement over Tony freaking Pena isn't a commendation. We could have gotten Escobar, he wouldn't be that expensive.

I guess Ponson is what I would expect from this organization but if they want to go with who is performing down at that level they have to go with Davies...

Looks like Halladay to start in the ASG. Not really too surprised. I guess Greinke will have to go for a sub 2 ERA next year... If Greinke pitched for Boston, this wouldn't even be close.

The only reason Greinke wouldn't be starting is because he plays for the Royals... very disappointing...

Halladay starting over Greinke is a joke. If the two switched teams, Halladay would maybe have 7 wins, and Greinke would probably be 13-2 or something.

Here i thought it was who was the best pitcher THIS season, not the "last several". My bad.

There goes my one reason for watching that stupid game. Oh well.....At least we still have the HR derby!

Coincidentally I was watching the Scott Van Pelt Show (basically worthless but maybe it'll get better when the sports calendar gets better in the Fall, Winter and Spring) today on ESPN2HD when they were giving out their MLB Midseason Awards. SVP and his co host, Ryen something, both gave Trey Hillman the "Best Mustache Award" for his "face salad".

    The very best.
Greinke has been sh*t since his 8-0 start.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Kauffman Stadium named a finalist to host the 2012 MLB All-Star game... The other ballpark is Fenway Park... Sounds like Kauffman is the front runner though.

hmm...i figured they would give it to Boston, considering it will be their 100th ann. I think 2014 is more likely for KC.
