Another 2 runs for Chicago in the ninth. God damnit Royals. They are so fracking pathetic when it comes to bringing in runs in scoring position. We missed too many opportunities today.

    The very best.
lmao. another run. love seeing the royals suck. do feel bad for greinke though. (go to the yanks already!)
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Two games in a row giving up the runs in the top of the ninth...just like old times...
I walk out of that tunnel in this building and the passion of our fans, just gets me going. I mean just gives me an adrenaline rush that you guys just don't understand. - Frank Martin

Six Idea of How to Fix the Royals

1. Platoon Mike Jacobs and Jose Guillen at DH
2. Start Mitch Maier at Right Field
3. Return Kyle Farnsworth to a set up role
4. Keep "The Donald" on normal rest
5. Fix the shortstop position (Cristian Guzman or Jack Wilson)
6. Flip Coco Crisp and David DeJesus

I think the biggest thing is getting a legit shortstop that can produce offensively... that position has killed us this year. Some more bullpen help and draft a real catcher...

It'd be nice to have a catcher who a) didn't strike out 35% of the time and b) could throw someone out.  That said...SS and bullpen are the bigger problems.  Everything else on the list is just rearragning deck chairs...
Wondering who is running this hot dog stand and seriously considering heading out for tacos.

A lot of teams have catcher that strike out and don't hit well, so that position isn't a problem considering you won't find anyone better.  We need to release Horacio Ramirez asap.  Tired of watching our pitchers blow games.

For all of the negativity in this thread lately I just gotta ask.....

You do realize that we're only 2 games out of Wild Card contention, don't you? For years they called the NL Central the "Comedy Central" and this year the AL Central looks to be setting up the same way. I'm not saying that we're going to win this division but lets not act like the sky is absolutely falling either.

We are in 3rd place headed to 4th and you are talking about us making the playoffs as a wildcard???  I swear some of the people on this board know absolutely nothing about sports.  If we don't fix pitching we are done and in last by July.

There are 2.5 games between 4th and 2nd. Certainly not insurmountable.

Well, they have put some money into carlos rosa.  About time to give him a shot.  As soon as devon lowery is healthy he should get a shot too.  Our bullpen is terrible.

Offensively Buck and Olivo both suck... as catchers Buck is extremely slow and Olivo can't stop a ball if his life depended on it... Face it we need to go another route for catcher... Either trade for one or pick up one in free agency in the offseason... I have lost hope that this team will be competitive this year until they make some changes to the offense...

You are pretty much describing a good majority of the major league catchers, aside from Mauer and Russel Martin, its kinda hard to name a really good catcher.  Thats why being a catcher is the quickest route to the majors.  Im telling you, watch our games and see how many innings tonight we let the leadoff man on base.  Now when you start multiple innings with no outs and a man on base we are going to get outscored in a large majority of those games.  We were winning games 4-2, 3-2, 2-0, etc.....  now we are losing 6-4 and so on.  Our pitching staff excluding Grienke is struggling right now, as soon as we dont allow guys like Horacio Ramirez to come in and blow the game we would be alright in our division.  Unfortunately thats who we are stuck with, unless we make some moves before the deadline.

I'm still   :royals:

Catcher might possibly be the least of our concerns at the moment.

Bullpen - has 2 glaring flaws
Rotation - Not worried except for probably the 5th man
LF - Dejesus will be with us for awhile
CF - Crisp will be fine
RF - eventually trade guillen or don't resign him so I can see us trying to draft or pick one up in free agency
3rd base - I still have faith in Gordon to be the long term factor there
SS - Moustakas will be here before long
2nd base - Callaspo will be there for awhile
1st base - eventually will be split between Hosmer and Butler with the other person being DH on days they aren't playing 1st base...
Catcher - They all suck that are on roster... Need to make a change...

Here is an example of how bad out catchers are... http://www.rotoworld.com/content/features/column.aspx?sport=MLB&columnid=2&articleid=32851

if you didn't have so many posts i would be sure you were someones sock. you do realize the rotoworld thing that you linked is predicting how many hits, runs, rbis, etc each catcher will get? you do realize that the royals platoon catchers? if you look at "royals catchers" numbers and compare them to other teams "catchers numbers" you would see that we aren't that bad off at that position. my god i hope that you're just trying to mess with me and aren't really being serious here.

I could understand nitpicking on catchers if we were 10 games over .500 but since that is the least of our worrys I would just let it go.

The topic came up of who we should take in the draft... I suggested a catcher (there are a few potential MLB all-star catchers in this draft) I am not saying we take one I am just saying I think it would defiantly be something worth looking at because we can do much better than Olivo and Buck... With that being said given the past history of the Royals they will take a RHP like they seem to always do in the 1st round...

Edit: Oh and Rick please name some potential catchers in the Royals system that have a future in the MLB... if you name at least 1 I will take back what I have said...
