We need Soria back. With him gone it just messes up the whole bullpen and it's forcing some pitchers to pitch in positions they aren't used to. We need Cruz to be pitching in the 7th and 8th inning more than people think.

Greinke's ERA still 0.81.

Did anyone see Mangino at the game last night?  Ryan mentioned that Mangino was a big baseball fan.  I consider that an understatement.  He's a HUGE baseball fan.

Looks like the division just got a little tougher.
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4191562

Peavy is 8-8 with a 3.29 ERA vs. the American League in his career

:ugh:
.500  :ohno:

Peavy isn't what he used to be...
GMAFB, you guys act like Peavy  is a nobody. The guy is 22 games over .500 for his career with a 3.27.
He's 3-5, with an era of 3.82 this year, but the Padres are scoring less than three runs a game for him. They averaged 3.5 per start for him last
year. Hard to win many games when your team doesn't score. He'd be the Royals second best starter this year.

So do you think he should go to the White Sox? The White Sox are just about as bad offensively as San Diego

This team won't win the central just eeking by, at some point they have to go back to playing the way they were or its a long season from here on out. I can't remember the last inning we had 1,2,3.

Probably why he voided the trade according to the ESPN2 Bottom Line during PTI.

Looks like the Sox didn't offer up enough to lure him to Chicago.
Quote
Rosenthal thinks back to the offseason, when the Padres "blew two chances" to trade Peavy. "The Braves clearly offered a better package than the White Sox. The Cubs' deal might have turned out better, too." He writes tha the longer the Padres take to deal Peavy, the less they will get in return.

Rosenthal has doubts about the White Sox's ability to compete in the future, and he says that this may have been on Peavy's mind when he rejected the trade.
I just didn't get why everyone was saying he isn't any good. Having him would probably give the Royals the best starting 3 in baseball with a good 4 and 5. We'd be a totally different team.

I am aware of that. If you read some of the posts above, people were talking about Peavy as if he was an average pitcher at best. I was explaining that he'd probably be the second best pitcher on our staff and might give us the best 1,2,3 in baseball.

One thing our pitching staff has to do is cut down on walks, they are killing us.

I think Aviles' time with the Royals is running out. They can't continue to put him out there and him continue to suck.

Unfortunatly you are right, but who else are they gonna put there.  I guess bloomquist, but his glove is average.

I could care less about defense right now the Royals' main concern is offense.

The same can be said about our hitters making mediocre pitchers look like Cy Young candidates

Agreed.  When TPJ comes back, put him in there.....  He hits the same and plays much better defense.

Pretty unbelievable how this season has turned on a dime

What have you seen since 1990 that led you to believe the Royals sucking would be "unbelievable."  The only thing that I would have found unbelievable is if the season hadn't turned on a dime.

Why wont K Seit change Aviles stance?!?!  What successful hitters have a stance with so much unnecessary movement?  Shefield has a lot of movement but most of it still relies on his wrist, plus he strikes out a crap load.  Julio Franco is somewhat of an exception, yet again, still a POWER hitter who struck out a ton.  It is impossible to stay on the ball when you spend so much god damned time swinging your &@#%ing bat around.  mother &@#%er, he pisses me off so much!  &@#%!!!!

Aviles' stance isn't his problem, it's the fact that he is in his 2nd year and pitchers have adjusted to him and he has yet to adjust the way he approaches his at bats and since he isn't that young he is going to have to make improvements fast or his playing career could be over after only a couple of years.
