Uh . . .

Phillies 2008 Payroll . . . $98 million  2009 . . . $100 million

Royals 2008 Payroll . . . $58 Million  2009 . . . $70 million

Indians 2008 Payroll . . . $78 Million 2009 . . . $81.5 million

The Royals have the 21st largest payroll in the League. Far better than where we sat a few years ago, no?

I'm no kc whoyalls? fan but if they don't continue to shake up the team after this season like they normally do, they'll have an 86-88 win team next year. Maybe I'm just blowing smoke but these guys ain't so &@#%in bad.
"Unless you're a ku fan you don't want to watch a game at the fieldhouse. You'll never see more home cooking in your life. The last game I watched there Larry got the boot and I didn't blame him a bit. Only ball game I've ever walked out on in my life, besides, the facility is a piece of ****."

All Rise... The Judge is in the house.
The Royals better pick it back up because they have just received 2 nationally broadcasted games within the next 2 months...

Requests by Fox Network to include the Royals in Saturday telecasts resulted in new starting times for two games. The June 20 game against St. Louis at Kauffman Stadium now starts at 3:10 p.m. instead of 6:10 p.m.; the Aug. 1 game at Tampa Bay now starts at 3:10 p.m., Central time instead of 5:08

Nice to get a non-Greinke win finally and especially with Hooch putting the ball on a tee in the 3rd along with the 4 errors.

Apparently John Buck forgetting how many outs there were prompted a chewing session of the whole team from Hillman, which in turn lit up their bats.

Whatever works, I guess.

Hooch was like the first pick in the draft, right?  And he's like 26 years old now, correct?

So, I'm thinking at some point the sucking should probably stop.

It should, but I doubt he becomes a Greinke.  If he would just become the solid #3 behing Greinke and Meche I'd take it, althought Bannister has been solid so far.

Feel the same way.

Is it bad I want Ponson back???

I'll give Hooch a couple more starts, but i heard some people question the minor league stats he had. I just didn't figure it would be this bad.

Hooch did better this start but still was off... I think he just needs some more adjustment time but I think he is a much better pitcher than Ponson still...

He needs to come to terms with the fact that big league hitters won't chase the pitches AAA hitters were. Once he gets that, he'll stop nibbling so much and just rely on his sinker over the plate getting ground ball outs, which is what we want him to do anyway. Since he's at the bottom of our rotation, I'm willing to be pretty patient with him.

Yeah he pitches fine when there is no pressure on him... in the last month when he came into the game we were either winning big or losing.

I know the dude has basically been a complete failure but it's ridic when our own 12k fans are booing him as he heads to the mound.  Thats bs.  Love or hate the guy booing him probably isn't going to make him pitch any better.  Wait 'til we get rid of him, then boo the &@#% out of him if you want.

Don't know what's more surprisingly exciting, the four runs in the ninth or the 25,000 fans on a Tuesday school night?
