This is depressing, KC is headed back down the division ladder. I took a chance with Hochevar on one of my fantasy teams, boy was that a mistake. 36.00 ERA in 2 innings of work, guess those AAA stats were a fluke.

They're not a fluke.  They are what they are, and that is AAA stats.

Hooch should change the official spelling of his name.  Maybe add an "i" or something.

Hooch is crazy.

I am not worried about the amount of runs that we gave up last night. What worries me is we have scored 7 runs in the last 4 games...

Games like last night happen, its just doesn't bode well for Hooch, especially since Oak is one of the worst offensive teams in baseball.

However, a couple of those games they gave away vs LAA are the ones that really come back to bite you.  You get a great game by Greinke but don't score, then give up a lead in the 3rd game and can't come back.  Should've taken at least one of those.

We were 18-11...it was bound to equalize to around .500.

Not worried.

Yeah, I agree with this.

But if they seriously want to make a run at the division, they can't lose games when Greinke pitches great.  Or when they lead late.  Or have Soria hurt for long.  Or have Hooch suck.

But probably hoping for the division champ is a bit much.  I suppose .500 is a solid goal for this team.

.500 will put us in division contention in September, which is all we can ask of this team. Plus, considering we've been playing without Gordon, with an injured Guillen, and now without Soria, I'm okay with where we're at. I think the Greinke loss and blown game in LA are negated by our comeback wins in Minnesota that the old Royals teams wouldn't have dreamed of winning.

Feel sorry for you youngsters . . . I remember when the Royals would finish 30-40 games above .500.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the Royals are supposed to be on the MLB network for the nation to see and instead at the last minute they show a Yankees game.

I think I must take part of the blame here.  Since the post below the Royals have fallen off the wagon.

I kind of shutter to think of what might happen b/c of this:

 :AA:

And does anyone know when this was created?

 :ksu:

Could explain some things.

Was it two years ago that the Indians were sitting around $63 mil and still managed to field a competitive team?

The Royals have the 21st largest payroll in the League. Far better than where we sat a few years ago, no?
