Stupid thread.  Frank got lucky yesterday (like Prince against  :hornsdown).  We simply are not a better team than Texas -- it was a fluke.  The better test of Frank's abilities is to see whether he can compile the talent/coach 'em up to consistently beat North teams like CU, NU, MU, ISU without the best player in the nation.

Jury is still out on Frank, but he's 2-1 against those North barometers this year.  (Although I still think there's a pretty good chance Frank's a suck coach.)

YES!

Someone else who is not deluded to reality.

This team has won its last Big 12 game this year.

LOL . . .

Love this board.

K-State losses . . . Martinites blame it solely on the "crap talent".

K-State wins . . . Martinites pretty much painting it as nothing but luck, and do everything they can to discount coaching and the coaching staff having the team better prepared to play as compared to the start of the conference season.

How else can you explain it.  Love the Martinites.

Again, great job by Frank in the last couple of games . . . team came out with great confidence, they looked prepared and ready for the game . . . everyone knew Texas was going to make a run (with a little help from the refs), and the team withstood it, overcame the shrivel factor and won the game.   Almost a total 180 from the completely lost on the floor, 25 turnover performance at Nebraska.

Dax, purely curious here and don't want to get in a bitch fest back and forth with you so don't take this the wrong way.  Which Big 12 coaches would you take above Frank?

"Martinites" and "Validators" are the two dumbest and most overused words on this board.

Yeah, you're right.  K-State has zero chance to beat the following teams at home:

Iowa State, Tech, Nebraska and a horrible Colorado team.  Good job.

I'd much rather have a 69 year old coach than one that weighs 400+ pounds.

Oh Come on Steve . . . that's such a bull$hit response.

Here it is I am singing Frank's praises and you're asking me which Big 12 coach I'd take over Frank.

And no Saul, I would much rather K-State win, but I am just  at the Martinites who have now pretty much painted themselves into a corner.

dax I specifically said I didn't want to get into a "thing" about it and was purely curious.  It was in no way a "bull$hit response".  In fact, it wasn't a response at all.  Purely a question.  I'm not questioning your allegiance or anything I am just curious.  If you aren't comfortable answering just say so.

At this moment in time, I wouldn't take anybody over Frank.

I think the job he's done adjusting, and instilling confidence back into this current K-State team has been great.

On the surface everyone can say it was all Clemente, but what I saw was a team that did a very good job of letting it be all Clemente yesterday, I mean if the guy is going to shoot and play like that on the road, you ride him to the end.  Good floor spacing, excellent attempts at getting him free'd up from Pressure, and nice job of not only running him off some screens but delivering the passes to him.

I think Frank is the best coach for this team.  Doc is probably one of the best coaches in the league.  Bill, Rick, and Jeff's abilities are inflated by their talent levels and coaching assignments.  Pat is a crap legacy, Ford could be good, but the jury is still out (I'd rather have Frank.)  Anderson is actually a really good coach, but cannot control off of the court issues and hasn't recruited to MU's potential.  BDeasy, McNeck, and Turd all suck.  Drew did a nice job recruiting to a junky situation and building a program where there wasn't one, but I don't want to wait a decade before we make the last spot in the tourney and then flame out the next season to the NIT.  For our school Frank is about as good as it will get.  I'm not sure many could do more and get more to Manhattan than he and Te have done.    The OU and @ ku losses didn't really shock me, but Dax is right about how unprepared the team was in the beginning of the conference season, especially in the @ NU and vs Baylor fiascoes.  He really has done a nice job turning the ship around.  But as a 4th level Martinite Mason I must inform you that Frank is perfect beyond compare.  Nothing that has gone wrong is his fault!  EMAW!

QFT

He said it in plain English, I didn't see him stutter.

The transformation of Frank to a coach with out a clue how to prepare a team for Big 12 play to someone I (I agree with dax) think is the best coach in the Big 12 (AT THIS TIME) in 2 weeks is amazing.

I just wonder who taught Frank how to coach during the last two weeks?  Or maybe it's just a matter of him caring enough to prepare the team now? :dunno:

Any guesses?

I dunno, this team could easily lets Brackins and co destroy them in Manhattan next tuesday.  We'll see a lot of hot and cold imo. At this point i'm expecting around 6-10, 7-9 - that should be enough, imo, for NIT - which is what most of us thought we would do this season.

Brackins will score against us, but no way we lose to the 'Clones at home...

8-8...NIT

My guess is Martin is no longer acting like a complete maniac every time a player makes a mistake..he definitely seemed calmer the last two games. He's getting out of their way and letting them enjoy playing(JamSam quote) and working through mistakes along with implementing much better substitution patterns. This all probably increased players confidence levels which cut down on the high number of careless turnovers, decisions and mistakes. I really don't think it is all that complicated.

I'm shocked Dax is not a HUGE martinite.

Like I expect him to just walk around in a Frank Martin Doom shirt and glare at people while trying to emulate Frank's awesomeness.

Remember this Dax?

the next chosen one stands among the masses in awe a mere one year the former

Dax seems to think the "Martinite" talking points have changed.  They haven't changed, at all (at least for me).  I was preaching 6-10 after Nebraska, and I'm preaching 6-10 now.

Nope Chin . . . you're pretty much a drama queen.

LOL at RustyKSUcat . . . remember, just two weeks ago we had crap, uncoachable talent, now we just got lucky.

Even bigger LOLers if K-State only wins 2 more games with home games left against NU, CU and ISU.    But I wouldn't be too surprised if the "we've got crap talent" Martinites don't want that so they can say they were right.
