Destroys Texas on the road with 1/10th of the talent that Barnes has.  What an unbelievably fantastic coach.  KSU and our garbage fanbase doesn't deserve him.  Hope we can hold on when Miami comes calling  :ohno:

True that.

Was an incredible chess match between Frank and Barnes.
Both did great jobs counteracting the others move.
Frank's intensity throughout the year is infecting this team.

If Frank continues to win this yr, and makes the NIT, OR even the NCAA's, then last yrs
arguement that he "just had MB and BW" can be thrown out the window.

Frank is proving he is loyal to his players, they are responding, and we are sseing a program taken
positive foundation-building steps to big 12 respectability.

Martinites out in full validation mode tonight.  I wish dax was around to take them down a peg or two.

Hemmy, perhaps we won't. But there are many who said we had no chance to get to 4-4 in the
league too. ;)

I'm happy, great job by Frank.

Too bad he didn't have the team prepared to play like this to start the season.

But hey, I thought K-State had suck ass talent . . . the Martinites, they just can't get past their own idiotic logic.

I dunno, this team could easily lets Brackins and co destroy them in Manhattan next tuesday.  We'll see a lot of hot and cold imo. At this point i'm expecting around 6-10, 7-9 - that should be enough, imo, for NIT - which is what most of us thought we would do this season.

But remember, that terrible talent couldn't be coached up.

Do you even remember what you guys were saying Steve? I suspect to much of this . . .  :bong:

We don't have suck ass talent.  We have young and incomplete talent.  Talent that shouldn't beat teams like OU, UT and ku.  We don't have talent across the board like Texas does either.

I'm not going to call Frank a "coach em' up" genius but we out played our level the last two games.  That or perhaps guys like Ron Anderson, Jamar Samuals, etc are starting to come into their own as players.  Perhaps, our young team is finally gaining confidence after opening up conference play with a gauntlet of tough games.

I'm not placing bets on where this team will go this season, I just want to see constant improvement.  The troops are coming next year and thing we accomplish this season is GRAVY.

If we dont lay an egg against ISU we are 4-4 and it is a brand new season.

Guys . . . that's plural Steve . . g-u-y-s.

Remember, K-State had suck ass talent, so don't blame anything on Frank, they can't be coached, no amount of X'ing and O'ing in the world was going to help this group according to the Martinites.

Strange how they respond to a solid game plan, and Frank recovers from his self admitted $hit job of coaching against NU.

Yeah, because all those screens they were setting for him early in the year didn't work.

yeah, he never had an open look before this game,   but now that martin has finally learned to free him up, we can expect him to hit 86% from 3 for the rest of the season.  should definitely help.
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

A lack of screens is why he's a career 33% 3P shooter. Heck, I'd run all my 33% gunners of screens.

He was hot today. No doubt about it. But it wasn't because Martin decided before the game that he was going to run him off picks. It was probably after he was 3-3 that Frank decided that.

But that was the point, instead of calling on DC to keep trying to create his own shots, they immediately started giving him some help to get him open.   Prior to this last stretch . . . not so much.

This isn't that hard.

you are tremendously dumb. have you ever won a fight w/ku fans?
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Thank you dax.

Martinites will never recognize the fact that Frank Martin is a high school coach who doesn't have the first clue what he's doing out there.

This is the last Big 12 win this season.

It's pretty clear to any one who's not a rabid Martinite that Frank Martin doesn't have an effing clue on how to get this team prepared to play any semblance of Big 12 basketball.

Does anyone have a screenshot of Frank Martin smiling? I don't think I have ever seen a smile on his face like the one today.

From during the ku game and after I remember some shots of him, but not today.  At the half the announcer was like, "And Frank Martin has got to be thrilled."  Frank was walking into the tunnel like someone had just cut him off in traffic.

I still want my cooler, bitches!
