I think Rice is proving tonight why they are one of the toughest teams to beat at home in the country...

    The very best.
leave your heart. leave your heart on the court, batcats.  :'(
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

oh baby what a surprise... a k-state athletic team has a pretty decent season and then craps their pants to end the season.

Great news.  We don't need the "batcats" getting good and stuff.  We need all the resources going towards the good sports.

At least we had something positive to talk about this spring to sort of get our attention away from how crappy we are gonna be in football...

Losing to the 6th ranked team in the country on their home field with our very first NCAA tourney appearance in school history....and that's your defintion of crapping their pants?

failing to end the season on a good note, getting pounded in the two games that would have sent them to a super regional, against a team they had beaten before... that's kind of crapping their pants.

basically, i'm in "depressed" mode because i can't think of a k-state athletics season ending on a positive note since the holiday bowl in 2002.

Well that sucks, I got to check the score one time at work (it was 10-4 Rice in the 7th). I was glad that we made the regional final for our very first time in the tournament, just wish we would have made the super regional.

This was a very fun season to watch, I can't wait for next season.

I can see nothing but positive things coming out of this season.  The recruiting will be easier and better.  The program will get more respect (still think KSU should have been a one seed). And the coaches will learn from some of their bone-head mistakes and be better next time.

Recruiting (talent) is how ballgames are won.

The right team won this regional... pitching depth is important when you run into this part of the season and the great teams in the country win because they have it... Rice had it and that's why they are moving on.

    Sniff Sniff. . . I smell Heisman.
We are losing 6 seniors, and probably Morris because he's now draft eligible. But we have a great young nucleus. Martini, King, Muenster, Bloxom, and Jurica. They should be decent.

I'm unfamiliar with baseball drafting.  Would it be better for Morris to go pro and probably get shipped around in the minors for a bit or stick around for another season and improve stock?  I'm all for him going if it's the best thing for him.  Kid did great things for us this season.   :powertard:

I would imagine he would be drafted in the first 3 rounds for sure. He's probably a sandwich round pick.

I would imagine Morris leaves... you never know next year he could have an arm injury or something... that guaranteed money is nice and the risk of losing stock is too much for a kid that had his breakout year this year...

Yes, I know Rice fans were "talking" trash during the game.....

But the standing ovation they gave us when Brad Hill did that 8th inning move was pretty classy.

No worries, Pujols destroys a lot people.

He'd take at least three years to make to the bigs.

The MLB draft is June 9.  At least we won't have to wait long to find out if he's leaving.
I'd much rather have a 69 year old coach than one that weighs 400+ pounds.

It always has been that's why you hear people every year that are playing in the CWS they talk about who drafted them and where...

bump.

After guiding Kansas State to a school-record 43 wins and the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2009, head coach Brad Hill has been named the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Midwest Region Coach of the Year, the organization announced on Wednesday.

Hill, who also earned 2009 Big 12 Coach of the Year honors, is the first coach in school history to earn the distinction from the ABCA. He was selected out of 35 Division I coaches from the states of Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Utah.

Guess he signed on the 3rd.  Any idea what he signed for?
