huh. i remember walker abusing people, but i don't recall ever watching a cat game and thinking the paint wasn't crowded. i trust y'all though.
Yeah, bro, I thought the same thing until mid January. He ran a very HS'ish motion offense until then. After that, Beas and Walker were on the perimeter a lot more.
Good points. And I think this directly helped us get to such a fast start in the Big 12 last year. Great move by Frank.
The problem was we really didn't have an answer once teams started figuring this out and defending it. Primarily teams started seeing the leader of this team was Walker and not Beasley and they got in his head which led to some up and down play down the stretch. We also showed that our guards were inconsistent at best and teams could focus more and more attention on Beasley. Overall Frank did a pretty good job managing that IMO.
This year I think our problems are similar in that our leader (whether he wants to be or not) is Pullen. IMO this team will go as far as he is able to take it. We have been most competitive against high major competition (uk, Iowa, ku) when he has played well, outside of the OU game maybe. He is an emotional guy, like Walker, and that will lead to inconsistency. Its nice if others play well, particularly Clemente, but if Pullen doesn't become a more consistent 15 (or so) PPG scorer then this season is in real trouble. If we can get him scoring around there most of the time, then we have a shot to win some games.
