Offense .... D
***  WR and Norwood the only birght spots so far
Defense ..... A-
*** So happy with this group.  I would have never guessed we would hold MU/UL to 24 pts on defense
Sp Team .... B
*** this would be a B+ but UL outplayed us on ST.

Offense: D
I like the creativity on offense.  Don't like the lack of rhythm and inability to score in the redzone.
Defense: A-
Defense plays fast.  Not giving up big plays on a regular basis.  Better tackling group.
Special Teams: B-
We've been really great at times, but had too many mistakes.  Missed opportunity for a blocked punt, allowing a punt fake, and blocked FG vs Louisville stand out.

Overall B-

Offense:  F
How can a former Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line coach let those two pieces of his team be the weakest parts of his team?  Inexcusable, independent of who's players he is coaching.  Add to that the power struggle he's having with Franklin and he gets an F-.  We suck on Offense.

Defense: B
They've picked up the Tampa 2 pretty well and seem to be all over the ball on every play.  The only way this unit get's an A is when we don't consider giving up 24 pts a good effort in a loss.

Special Teams:  C
I'm giving them an average grade "C".  Just because they aren't playing as horrible as we  have in the past few years doesn't automatically qualify them for an A grade.  We're 1st in the nation in Kickoff Returns, 14th in Punt Returns, but our Turn Over margin is tied for 37th and our Net Punting is 100th (bleh).

Recruiting:  TBD
Golden Boy isn't enough to get an A here, just like scoring the hot chick from the Lucky's dance floor one night didn't make you a stud in college.

Overall:  C
I think right now we're an average football team in many respects, and it took a lot of work to get us here.  I like a lot of the things Prince has done and the progress we've made but won't know enough until I see us play Big XII football.

Overall I'll award him 3 Moreira dives out of 5.

 :dive: :dive: :dive:

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Offense...F...everyone else has said it fine....

Defense B+...Has had flashes of absolute brilliance, but I have trouble forgetting the I-AA game and the 97 yard drive..it was too easy for UL

Special Teams...C+...Still too inconsistent

Overall...D+...The offense is inexcusable to me, and the mistakes happening over and over are very troubling, particularly stupid penalties.

Scale

A=Excellent
B=Above average
C=Average
D=Below Average
F=ku under Terry Allen..or worse (like the offense)

    Fear the Brick
Offense - F
The output speaks for itself.

Defense - B
They play faster, hit harder, and are more physical than the past two years although that's not really a high bar to get over.

Special Teams - B
There has been a punter on the field every time we've gone out to punt, so that's a plus.  All facets of special teams is better, although the field goal kicking unit needs a bit more work.

Overall - C+

I'm trying to grade this team comparitively to our good teams, not just the past two years.  This team may not be able to make a run for the Big 12 championship, but at the same time I'm not ready to take solice (that some have taken) in an 18 point loss.

Offense: F-
Norwood has been solid and Clayton, for the first time, looked good for an entire game against Louisville.  The WR corps is probably fine but it's hard to tell when the QB can't get a pass within ten feet of any of them.

Defense: A
Appeared a little confused at times late against Louisville but otherwise no complaints at all here.  Give Raheem a raise.

Special Teams: B+
Yeah getting burnt on the fake punt sucked and the blocked kicks by the opposition are annoying but I've never seen the first KSU player down the field make the tackle on opposing returners anywhere near as often as has been happening this season.  Give Tibesar a rase too.

Prince: B
He's done a nice job of creating interest in the program and being an attention whore.  He also did a nice job of bringing in a capable staff that's also young and energetic enough to get the kids to buy into what they want to do.  But in the end I'm a bottom-line guy, I expected 3-1 or at the worst 2-2 at this point and he's delivered that though the offensive problems are troubling (I still believe they're overwhelmingly Meier's fault).

I give Prince an A. At this point we have won all games we were supposed to. He started at ground 0 with every aspect of this program. He has done what he needs to do at this point. The future looks good! Most teams build the big D first. Offense follows! It will be interesting to see a full year of recruiting for HIS football program. :ksu: :ksu:

[ Add to that the power struggle he's having with Franklin and he gets an F-.

Is this just sarcastic speculation or based on something factual?  Only reason I ask is Martin's Q&A mentioned something similar.

Offense D+ only because we're 3-1, otherwise we suck at it.

Defense A, only a perfectionist would grade lower considering how bad last year's defense was.

Special Teams is a B+ for same reason's other's have listed.

Prince is a B, Basically a great job with a few slipups off season.  If he straightens out the offense, we may just have a real winner here.

Prince said early on that he'd hire coordinators and that they'd be completely responsible for the offense and defense so I'd tend to discount the rumors of preseason clashes over the O.  Right now on the other hand ....

It's not meant to be sarcastic, and since i'm not Prince nor Franklin, it is speculation.  It appears as though our Offense has multiple personality disorder, trying to be too many things, none of which are good and none of which allow us to establish any kind of strength or attack.  There are simply too many cooks in the kitchen.

Does it concern you at all that the one thing that Prince knows the least about (Defense) has performed the best this season?  What message can you discern from that?  :blank:

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

But he's a heck of an OC and OLine coach...  :jerkoff:

Fatty's right.  Like he has always said, Snyder was an offensive genius because his offenses usually sucked in the big games while his defenses always rose to the occasion.

Offense:  D (An F is what Colorado is)
Defense: B+ (A since the ISU fiasco)
Special Teams: B (Coverage teams are excellent, return units are excellent, but we've blundered 10 points in kicking game)
Recruiting:  Kind of interesting...we seem to be winning alot of head to head battles with the area schools, but still some strange offers out there. C-

Overall: B-

We're maybe +30 spots on those compared to CU but they've played two games against very solid competition while we've only played one.  And our scoring offense numbers are inflated because defensive and special teams scores are included.  Our O might actually be worse than CU's.   :yuck:

Offense: C
I'm not grading based on performance statistics, but based on what he's getting out of the talent in the program.

Defense: A
Anyone can come out asleep in the first game.  K-State survived and advanced.  Once again, based on what is in the program I am impressed.

Special Teams: B
I believe there are way too many facets to really grade as one area, but I'll do so.  A world of difference in comparison to last year...but it's easier to have good/great special teams performances against lesser teams.  I expect consistency when in conference play, and will be surprised if we continue to see difference making plays.

Offense-  D-  I believe the inconsistency in play calling is likely dictated by an O-Line that won't give the QB time, or create any holes for the RB's to run through.  That makes calling plays difficult.  I suspect this frustration is likely the cause of rumored discord between Prince and Franklin.  I have to believe they had discussed offensive philosophy and plans at great length before even the hiring.  I think if the line shores up we will see better accuracy out of Meier, and more consistent play calling.  The concern is that our O-Line has sucked for 2 yrs so I'm not sure it will be shored up.

Defense- B+  They fly to the ball, look faster, and have limited long plays.  But, the 1st game was scary, the 97 yd drive was too easy, and they give up to many 3rd down conversions.  I see great progress though and they seem to be improving each week.  The tackling and enthusiasm are greatly improved.

Special Teams- B  Have had some great plays but we need to see consistency against good teams.  The fake punt, blocked FG, and inconsistent FG kicking as well as punting are concerns.  The coverage units and tackling have been very good.

Recruiting-  Incomplete

Overall-  B  I'd rate the staff as having done a good job to date.  The offensive and defensive transitiions are great going to completely different systems and terminology.  Given the extensive numbers of returning players for completely different systems this has to have been a challenge.  Many times I read in the off season about how poor we were going to be because of this transition.  I also know that O lags D in this type of transition (typically).  I just hope that our O-line that has been awful for 2 yrs and 4 games can find a way to be good.  Again, enthusiasm is great in the program and I think that will positively impact future recruiting...but not as much as wins.

Offense C-
i like how we are using the TE's, i like that freeman is getting work, i like the philosophy, but the o-line is a killer and dylan is no longer a D-1 QB.  losing evridge is a killer.

Defense A
leaps and bounds above where we were the past 2 seasons, if we had this kind of play last year i think we win 8 games easily.

Spec teams A
the fact that they have won us a game as opposed to costing us a game is tremendous.

Coaching B
we are where i thought we would be at this point and i see a lot of upside for the rest of the year.  this grade moves to an A if we win this week.

    THE b IS NOT CAPITALIZED
Other than the game starting onside kick, he just hasn't been bold and daring enough. He needs to practice what he preaches every ten seconds imo.

 :katpak:
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70
