He didn't have the decency to remain perfectly quite during ku free throw attempts.  What a dick.  Shouting "Frank" and "Doom."

Rest assured, from my vantage point I was able to confirm that many elderly, well dressed (presumably nice smelling) patrons around this person immediately showered him with explicatives and venomous retorts.

I can assure you of one thing, the a-hole did not have the pleasure of enjoying a refreshing fountain drink.

I was three rows in front of him and I too neglected to take a photo of him although he did have a doom t-shirt on and actually yelled "doom" during a couple free throws in the first half.

Was it a White Frank Doom?  Was he enjoying a diet coke in a bottle?  Because I've had problems with that guy at other games.

That's the one I saw.

He really looked like he was regretting the diet coke in a plastic bottle....but I guess I should be sympathetic since he didn't have a choice because ku does NOT sell fountain drinks at games.    Not Elite.

One of the most amazing aspects about that dung pile.  If it didn't smell like stale popcorn the lack of iced drinks wouldn't be so bad.

Lew Perkins in his infinite wisdom deep-sixed the fountain drinks like three seasons ago for reasons unknown (I assume money?)  Did not go over well with Sept2007's family.

For some odd reason fountain drinks are still available at the football stadium . . .

Did he put his hand over his heart during the National Anthem?  Did the KSU players?  This is important.  TIA.

Poor business decison.  The profit margin on fountain drinks is insane.  Seriously, the cost of the water, CO2, paper/plastic cup, ice and syrup is like 15 cents for a 32 oz coke.  I guess you will have less spills with bottles, but I thing the loss of revenue would make up for it.

QFT.

Besides, who cares if you spill in AFH?  The place is old and dumpy.  They should just tear the place down.

If they had a nicer, newer facility like Bramlage, they would be concerned about such things.  But some Fieldhouse?  Let it go.

I'm a fan of the bottles.  It is actually a really smart decision.
1. You can actually serve more people, more quickly than with ftn (no waiting on the foam to go down three times).  Lines are shorter and you can actually get to a stand and back during a timeout.
2. You get a guaranteed quality product every time without relying on the CO2 to be ratioed correctly and the machine to be operating at 100% efficiency and no ice melt
3. The margin is not all that much greater (to fill a 32 oz cup is actually closer to $0.65).  Anyway, at $3.50 per, your margin is in tact regardless of cost
4. Do not discount the "mess factor"  With almost 5000 being served during a game, the spills are almost eliminated completely.
5. Customers actually get their money's worth.  You wanna guess how much ice, K-State concessions puts in their drinks?  At least with a 20 oz bottle, I know I'm getting 20 oz of product.  It may cost me $3.50 but I know what I am getting.

I realize this may be a bit  :powertard:, but even at home games, I always get bottles.

You work for the company that supplies bottles of soda to AFH?  There's about a brazzillion things I can think of to do to take advantage of this situation we find ourselves in.

Trust me, it's occurred to me.  Our deliveries come through a garage door on the south side of AFH and the staff there is really particular about shutting the door as soon as possible so the cold air doesn't get to the court when practice is going on.  I have been known to wander off with the key and get lost for a little while.

I know it's not much, but it's my little part and short of poisoning/tainting product destined for the locker room, I do what I can.

I disagree SuperG.  Have you ever tried to mix a pint of JD with a BOTTLE of diet Coke?  No sir, a fountain drink is the way to go.

The stuff tastes better when freshly mixed.  Everyone knows that.  They've chosen to go with lower quality.  Slap in the face to their fans.
