Nebraska got one of there solid Nortard home games out of the way vs MU and will be ripe Sat.  Plus we're due to have J-Pul and D-Clem play well on the same night.

    The very best.
meh. whatever. tonight was friggin pathetic.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

We'll turn the ball over some ungodly amount and get behind by double figure, make a late charge and fall short.

Sorry, _FAN.  I think it gets ugly in Lincoln and Frank's head explodes with 6:27 left in the 2nd.

JMHO.

I'm trying to be optimistic right now and I realize one thing; in our first two big 12 games the best 2 or 3 players (by far) on the floor played for the other team.  Its hard to win when that is the case.  Saturday, I don't think that's the case.  Overall we have a solid talent base, but we don't have a Collins or an Aldrich or a Griffin or even a Warren.  The good thing is Nebraska (and the other Nortards) don't either.  Those are the games you must win, then hopefully we can steal a home game vs a Baylor or Kansas sometime down the road.  But good coaches that make their way and build programs get started beating the teams that they should be able to beat.

True, but I'll still be a Martinite even when we lose by 10+

Immediate future, here's what likely happens; NU goes to Ames tomorrow and loses by 10.

By Friday the consensus on this board will be a Kazzu win in Lincoln.

And then we lose.  Both ISU and NU are more manic depressive than I'd hoped they would be.

"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

I think this game will come down to style;

70+ possessions Cats win.  65 or less, NU wins.  In between, down to the wire.

If we can somehow create pace in this game I really like our chances.

You can't be surprised.  Heck, we melted down on a regular basis for a football team that was much worse (comparably) than this basketball team.  Its pretty much our nature.  We're almost becoming pros at melting down, working to perfect the K-State little man syndrome.

i don't think anyone is melting down.  just normal bitching.

the people that should be melting down are the ones that melted down about jodie meeks scoring 30 (or whatever) on ksu earlier in the year.  glad to see a little comeuppance delivered to those individuals.

Yeah, this is probably right.

Funnier is reading some of the GP folk that actually thought this (K-State) was a tournament team.

_Fan, if we are going to sit here and say (as we did about a week ago) that this KSU team has more talent/is better than the what Wooly was fielding, then Frank/KSU needs to win against NU on Saturday.  But I don't think that's going to happen.  We're going to go there and get beat by 7.

Agree with this.  Think we have a shot to win, best shot of any game we've played this year.  I like the match-up with NU as long as we can set the pace.  That can be hard to do in Lincoln.

The way I look at this season is that the Cats need to hold their own against the North.  MU and NU have to be at minimum splits.  Sweep ISU and CU.  And maybe find a way to beat ku at home.  At least 6-4 in those 10.  We don't have the greatest schedule against the south, so 2-4 is about what I expect.

I can see us destroying NU.  We could turn it over a ton and lose it but I can really see us winning by 15 or so.  We match up favorably with them.

frank needs to force the pace of this game with some full court or at least half court pressure.  we will absolutely not win if we're banking on our half court man2man alone getting us turnovers and transition buckets.  the problem with trying to apply that pressure is that it might play into NU having a bunch of midgets out there that all can, at least fundamentally, dribble the ball.  start clemente, pullen, brown, sutton, and samuels and try to pressure the hell out of them.

Another cool thing about this week.

We get the chance to visit a great site dedicated to one of the worst BCS basketball programs ever.  But still they have this wonderful website dedicated to breaking down their hoops.

It should be noted that wooly didn't have to play Doc Sadler, and Huggs and Mike Beasley both lost in Lincoln.
