Hello all,

I have wanted to get on the board for a while, just haven't had the time to do it.  I'm not sure how much time I'll have to spend on the boards in the future, but I'll do my best to check on the board semi-regularly in case there are questions/topics on which I may or may not have insight.

First, contrary to a lot of past column response emails I've received with my day job, I'm undoubtedly a Wildcat.  That doesn't mean, however, I won't take the unpopular side to any K-State argument - whether that means pointing out the positives or the negatives.  There are quite a few of you like that, it seems, which is one reason I dig the 'Gon more than "other" arenas.

My spin (on the basketball team mostly since that's what I've been assigned to cover) always will be to look at the bigger picture, and try to figure out the "next" in terms of what would benefit the program more.

We won't agree always, but I'm looking forward to the conversation.

Hello.

I've been wanting to read one of your articles.  Oh, wait.  No, I haven't.  But if I wanted to, I'm sure that I wouldn't make the time to do so.  Maybe I'd feel differently if I had the opportunity to pay for the pleasure.  Guess we'll find out soon.

Sincerely,
"The Kitchen"

Used to see an -- unused -- emailed column from Kitchen at the paper where I work. Pure conventional wisdom without an original thought to be found.

Sooooooo this may be a dumb question... but why do you all hate Curtis Kitchen?

Since you asked that question, I also have one:  Why the hell are we supposed to care about anything Curtis Kitchen has to say?  This whole time, I assumed he was a former Wildcat that I just wasn't familiar with.  (Maybe before my time, or something.)  Turns out I was wrong. :dunno:

Wow, tough crowd.  But on the bright side this thread is the first thing I've seen on this site that I'd actually pay to read (but only if Kitchen brings the hammer down).

Who is this guy and why are you all being so mean to him?  I mean he's probably really important for like 2 minutes a day to some truck driver.  :dunno:

Either way, some pretty solid messageboarding by the kitchenator.   :skillz:

So he played like a half-dozen NBA games in the mid 80s then went on a 15 year heroin bender before turning up as a student assistant at Washburn a few years ago?   :flush:

If you pass through the NBA on the way to the PA announcer for Washburn basketball, baseball and softball, you're going the wrong direction.

that's actually the part that gets me. 6-8 hrs in prep for Ichabod hoopz? srsly? I understand how the few people who might have a mild rooting interest in wuball want a dece broadcast, but that's a little overboard. guess he "loves the work".  :users:

If my name was Kitchen you'd probably never hear the end of it. I'd be working it into every conservation with witty one liners like "If you can't stand the heat, get the &@#% out of the Kitchen's face!". I'd also give myself cool nicknames like "Bitch'en Kitchen" and just other really cool stuff like that.
