Why do people keep &@#%ing with Jack Bauer?

Every season, they have to have some sort of metaphorical cock fight between some "in-charge" and Jack.  Meanwhile, someone like 3 levels above Jack loves and trusts Jack, but just can't seem to keep the "in-charge" from being mean to Jack. 

I quit watching this thing about 2 episodes into last season when I was certain it had officially jumped the shark.  But, I am giving this &@#%ing show one last chance....though I shouldn't do it.

I liked when the "in-charge" asked Jack if this is where he gets all tough, as though he's watched the same thing happen over and over again on 24.

Why can't anyone in the really smart CTU places figure out that something really bad's going to happen every hour, on the hour?

You'd think Jack would look at his watch notice it was **:59.59 and tell everyone around to duck.

It has been reported that Chuck Norris has signed on to play the big boss.  We will be seeing the showdown we've all been waiting for in the thrilling conclusion.

LOL, I know. 

Most disappointing part of the show last night was when he did NOT stick that &@#%ing ink pen in the dude's neck.  I went from "SWEET" to "meh" in about two seconds. 

Props to the writers on that little moral conundrum that they setup for the female FBI agent, "should I let Jack torture this dude or not?"     At this point I am basically just hoping he cuts a dude's head off like he did in the old days.

Seems to me the "in charge" guy has a thing for the red head female agent and thinks Jack might move in and tap her.
