Well, Bob Elliot did call a good game against OU in 2003, so using one game as a barometer is probably not a good idea.
He has had very mediocre reviews at his last two stops (Oregon and Utah), and that's probably a nice way of saying how he's viewed by Oregon fans.
In the end, it doesn't really matter. Ron Hudson was a pretty bad OC in his own right (i.e. running the option with a 300 lb. Jared Lorenzen), but we did fine because the OC in Snyder's program is basically a consultant. We'll run the plays he wants when he wants them.

kudos to Ludwig for a great game call last night, but I'm not going to coronate hims as some sort of offensive genius because they beat a deflated Alabama team. Even if he is the greatest OC in the world, Snyder will overrule him whenever he feels like it.
