I haven't read the whole thread, because I don't care that much, but after following K-State sports teams my whole life, it seems pretty simple.
Our fan base will show up for almost any squad on campus, as long as it wins.
Our fan base will stay home if they think there's a decent chance we're going to lose.
Now, this is better than some places. I mean, UT can have a top 10 basketball team, but if they aren't playing aTm, OU or ku the Erwin Center is an embarrasment. I was at TJ Ford's last home game, and that place was a ghost town. Granted it wasn't official that it was going to be his last home game, but still.
On the other hand it seems like some SEC schools would sell out every home football game even if they were coming off back to back winless seasons. Good for them.
It is what it is. I'm not going to get too worked up about it.
