Baylor is 1-3 but lead tcu until late in the 2rd quarter and weren't put away until the 4th quarter. They also lost at Washington State on a FG with 9 seconds left and to Army in OT. They could easily be 4-0.
QB Shawn Bell set a school record by completing 59.4% of his passes last season and is completing 66.1% of his passes so far this season. They've gone to a Texas Tech like passing attack. He passed for 1,964 yards last season and is on pace to throw for 3,213 yards this season. He threw for 12 TD's last season and is on pace to throw for 21 this season.
Their running game is struggling like ours. RB's Brandon Whitaker and Paul Mosley have only managed to average 3.3 yards/carry and get into the end zone once. They returned 3 offensive linemen so I'm not sure I can explain that.
Their top receiver is WR Trent Shelton. Shelton is averaging 12.4 yards/catch and has found the end zone twice. 158 of his 323 yards came in a win over Northwestern State.
Defensively they only return 4 starters (CB's Anthony Arline and C.J. Wilson, DE Marcus Foreman and DT M.T. Robinson). Their most talked about player going into the season was P Daniel Sepulveda who was the 3rd best punter in the nation last season.
My initial thought is that our defense should have a good day against this offense. I'm a bit concerned that, with Sepulveda, field position is going to be a problem. If our offense can't move the ball vs. this defense they're not going to be able to move it vs. any defense.
