Louisville, a ranked team, comes to town and Ksu fans don't sell out.

I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

    The very best.
One of the many reasons why they will never do any relevant in football.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Is ku the football school?

Our attendance was better than Ksu two weeks ago. We lost to Toledo, some 'fans' jumped off.

Ksu was still 3-0 going into the Louisville and didn't sell it out. And you're a football school.

ku's football program will likely never overshadow ku's basketball program.

But ku's football program is certainly gaining momentum each and every year.

You could say the exact same thing about K-State's bball program. We won't ever overshadow football again but our basketball program is defintely climbing up.

I think your basketball program will overshadow your football program soon.

false, a lot of our fans come from western kansas and won't likely make the trip for a bball game as often as they would for a football game. Football is a weekend event. Basketball isn't. Now that K-State has tasted what it is like to be a football school, I don't see our bball program overshadowing our football. Wefald and Weiser will also not let our program fall off and will always do whatever they can to keep it going.

They'll start making trips when Ksu basketball starts winning. It won't take long with Huggins' recruiting to get to second place in the north and in some post-game tourneys.

Sometimes you just can't stop a program from falling into mediocrity(or below). See Ksu basketball after 1988.

Big12 basketball isn't divided into divisions in case you didn't notice Goldy. And we aren't falling off of anything. K-State is on the rise in football regardless of what you think.

Not officially but considering we play all north teams twice and south once, it still is.

Wrong.

2003:  6-7-0
2004:  4-7-0 <==OOPS!
2005:  7-5-0

Is ku better off with Mangino than Terry Allen? You bet. You are, however, missing some key items. FACT: Allen faced a much tougher North division than Mangino. CU was better, NU was better, KSU was better. The Athletic Department and the University have a much more vested interest in the football team now. The apathy around that program from a fan and AD level was quite apparent under Allen and even Mason. Mason was a good coach that won DESPITE the lack of support. Mason's 92 squad went 8-4 and went to a superior bowl game than Mangino has been to. ku toward the end of Mason's run WAS BETTER than ku is now. Your '92 team would mop the floor with any of Mangino's teams. Past and probably future. If you want to claim ku is improving the last 5 years, sure, outside of that speedbump in '04. Dating back to Mason, however, you've regressed.
Your coach is 19-29 and can't win anything on the road, but you are so happy with him that you nearly tripled his salary and continue to swoon over him despite his lackluster coaching decisions at Toledo (if they line up and run at Toledo every freaking down, they win), his run-ins with the NCAA, and his refusal to go on celebrity fit club.
"He beat KSU! Give him a lifetime contract!" -ku fan.

We're not going by leaps and bounds, no. But I never expected that.

We could go to back to back bowl seasons this season. Theres a good sign.

We're 3-1. All we need is 3 wins. Of the remaining schedule, only NU looks like an unwinnable situation.

Man you should talk. Seriously, I'm the homer?? I don't travel over to other teams boards. You live on other teams boards. Wow. That just baffled me.

Goldy go somewhere else, seriously.  I have never started a bickering contest with another poster on this board but maybe you don't get it: THIS IS A KSU BOARD.  If you want to talk KSU that is fine, but what kind of reaction do you expect when you try to tell people on this board ku is improving every year.  First of all they don't want to read about that sh1t because they are on a KSU board, and second, you continue to talk of their improvement when their team is obviously worse than last years.  The O is slightly better because of a more experienced OL but no QB=no points.  The D is way worse.  Just stop.

Don't let Goldy get to you.  He's harmless.

If he knew anything about football, he just might have something worthwhile to post.  But, because he doesn't, he just wants attention.

Goldy still has three posts that he hasn't responded to. I figure for someone that hangs out on other teams boards that much, he sure is staying away from here..

The first word in this thread is 'ku'.

So although its a ksu board, this thread is about ku. So what kind of reaction do you expect when talking about ku?
