And, there's a good reason why the constitution demands proof beyond a reasonable doubt to convict a person of a crime. The only legal standard to bind a person over for a trial at a preliminary hearing is "probable cause"--which means "any evidence". Not a preponderance of the evidence. Not clear and convincing evidence. And, not proof beyond a reasonable doubt. The judge is not permitted to weigh the evidence at the preliminary hearing. This young man has not been convicted of anything. He's guaranteed a fair trial based upon the evidence produced at the trial of the case with all the constitutionally mandated rights strictly adhererd to in that trial. So, let's put away the rope and wait patiently for the results of that fair trial.
