The Royals are after Kyle Farnsworth, Russ Springer and Rafael Furcal. There have also been rumors of deals of Zack Greinke and outfielder José Guillen to Atlanta for outfielder Jeff Francouer. Also, David DeJesus and Mark Teahen to the Cubs. Also, speculation surfaced that outfielder Jermaine Dye could be returning to the Royals through a trade with the Chicago White Sox.

Why would we give up Greinke and Guillen for Francouer? That would be a terrible move. We'd only go after Francouer if we trade away one of our outfielders. If the Royals made a trade with the Braves, I'd hope they would go after Yunel Escobar and not Francouer.

It's down to the Royals, Dodgers, A's, and Blue Jays for Furcal.

All Rise... The Judge is in the house.
Last I heard DM has denied rumors that KC is wanting to trade Grienke. Guillen is still up in the air though. Sounds like it is down to the LAD and KC for Furcal rumors are that KC has offered RF a pretty hefty deal.

Moore and Frank Wren (the Braves GM) have both confirmed that nobody with the power to make this deal happen have even discussed it.  Braves really do want a #1 starter, and seem pretty focused on Burnett.  Royals have said that Greinke is available, but they are not actively shopping him.  I wish they could get rid of Guillen, but I don't know who is willing to give equal value in trade and take on his salary and personality issues in light of his modest production.  Even if nothing else happens this off-season, the Royals have gotten better.  Just need to figure out what to do with the log jam at 1B/DH.

The Royals have signed Horacio Ramirez, Doug Waechter and Kyle Farnsworth. All that's left is to try to work out a deal for Rafael Furcal.

2 years 9.25 mil is a bit much for him.

QFT.  He has all the physical tools (dude can wing it 100 mph) but he's kind of a head case.  He'll strike a guy out and then walk the next 3 guys on 12 straight pitches.  As a Cubs fan I watched this for a couple of years.

His era has been in the mid 4's the past 3 seasons in New York. This seems like a typical Royals' signing, though. Were paying for a name and not a good player.

Chuck James and Chris Capuano got dfa'd today. I wonder if the Royals will take a look at them.
Capuano is coming off elbow surgery, and would be out early in the year.
