    Fear the Brick
In Manhattan, the No. 8 ranked team in the country, the No. 1 rated 2007 basketball recruit, multiple top 100 basketball recruits, a 3-0 KSU team……and no sell out.  I guess this shouldn’t be a surprise as our sell outs are usually dependent upon the other team buying not only their allotment, but a majority of the remaining tickets.

Christ, less people attended the final game of our legendary coach than did the first game of our new bold and daring coach.  Economics and geography and aside, there’s no reason we shouldn’t be able to put 50K KSU fans in the stadium for this game.

I agree.

I still maintain that KSU's pricing policies are partly to blame.

Individual game North Endzone seats SHOULD not cost the same as the rest of the stadiums individual game tickets.   In addition the the upper half of the upper level and the 2 sections on each end of the upper level should have lower priced season tickets and individual game tickets.

In my opinion, until they reprice the 4 or 5,000 "worst" seats in the stadium and improve fan amenitites for ALL fans (who are paying the same prices in the case of general public seats) ... then you're going to have this happening.

Again, this is what a family of 4 is looking at for tomorrow:

$200 bucks for the tickets to sit in the worst areas of the stadium, a game that kicks off early, probably $10 bucks to park, suck ass access to stadium amenities ... or staying home and watching the game for free.

This goes straight back to stuff the powertards hated me for when I used to bring up how KSU was going have empty seats by charging high prices and treating huge groups of fans like 2nd and 3rd class citizens.

Hell, even the schools THAT CAN treat their fans like crap are spending millions to improve their fan amenities, and in some cases have very cheap tickets.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
Yeah, I have tickets, but I went ahead and looked at the KSU online ordering...about all you could get was section 420.

Tough to justify $110 for a pair in that section.

No, you just aren't hardcore enough Rusty!  If you're a REAL KSU FAN, you spend the money and get your ass to the stadium.

-Powertard that has never sat up there.

Exactly Rusty ... so what my buddy is telling folks is, "I'd rather have empty seats then drop my prices for some sections of the stadium and not make any money on them".

Do they drop the price just before the game?

But Dax...we don't want to 'de-value' the tickets of others.

I, as a season ticket holder, don't give a crap...fill the stadium.

Yeah ... which is exactly why you set aside sections for cheaper tickets.

Part of the value is where you sit ... usually its only in college athletics that you find ticket pricing that's not in line with seat location.

There's no reason in hell that KSU's OOC games, and non-premier conference games can't have sections in the stadium that are less expensive for individual game tickets.

If you have 1000 crappy seats that are empty for 6 out of 8 games at $50/ticket, you're getting $100000 in revenue off of those seats.

Charge $25/ticket, fill up half of them for 8 games, you've made $100000.

Is having tiered pricing just too tough logistics-wise?

Maybe you should shoot Tim Weiser an e-mail.  You have some very valid points.
