The Golden Eagles are 4-3 with a win over La Salle and losses to Miami (FL), South Alabama and at New Mexico. The Golden Eagles return 4 starters off of a team that went 19-14 (9-7 in Conference USA) in 2007-08.

The Golden Eagles are lead by G's Jeremy Wise, R.L. Horton (All conference last season) and Courtney Beasley. Wise averages 21 points/game (leads the team), 5 rebounds/game and 4 assists/game (leads the team). Horton averages 12 points/game, 3 rebounds/game and 2 assists/game. Beasley (who lead the team in scoring 5 times last season) averages 12 points/game, 6 rebounds/game (leads the team) and 2 assists/game.

This is the most veteran team in C-USA and one of the most veteran teams in the country. The good news is that they're bad on the road (they were 3-11 last season). They did finish well last season (7-3 in their last 10 games) so postseason is a reasonable goal for them. It'll be interesting to see if they can challenge Memphis, UAB and UTEP at the top of C-USA.
