Is there a reason you didn't run a single set last night? Clemente/Pullen dribbling until the clock reaches 8 seconds driving to do one of three things...turn it over, make a acrobatic shot, or put something off the iron for Anderson/Samuels to clean up.
You and Dax obviously weren't paying very good attention. There were tons of offensive sets ran in the half court. Clemente (and Pullen) got a couple of curls off double screens, and there were a ton of post feeds in the context of a set offense. I'm guessing 6 of Ron Anderson's shots were a result of the offense getting him the ball on the block, and most of Samuels free throws were a result of the offense, too. Probably all 10 of Kent's turnovers came from making horrible passes in a set offense.
Personally, I'd like to see fewer offensive sets and more running and/or clearouts for Clemente and Pullen.
Disappointing that our defense isn't creating more offense right now. If we are going to force as many TOs as we do, we need to be getting more points off of them.
And while we have some sets and such, our assist to TOs the last 3 games tell a pretty clear story. uk; 4 assists, 16 TOs. Iowa; 5 assists, 16 TOs. Oregon; 7 assists, 20 TOs. Total; 16 assists, 52 TOs. That's pretty horrendous. You aren't going to win many games with that. Really pretty amazing that we've kept any of these games close with those numbers, I guess our defense is good enough to keep us in it. We don't have good enough players to create our own offense that much, we've got to be generating offense in the halfcourt somehow, and obviouly we aren't getting that done.
