It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Solid bench players, 'te is responsible for starters.  Not Frank's fault you don't understand how things work.

awaji is basically a wasted scholarship, herrera will be gone after this year.  the rest are good players.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Hard to knock Anderson and Samuels tonight.  Other then the fact Anderson is the worst damn free throw shooter I've ever seen.

I'm not talking about tonight. Anderson is not going to get much better, I like him...but if you want to recruit a guy like ron anderson...you can't follow that up w/awaji and herrera.

Anderson, Samuels and Clemente are solid Big 12 players imo.

This post is poorly executed considering the facts surrounding this game.

Anderson made some great moves around the basket. Clemente had a solid game trying to make something out of nothing. Samuels contributed in usual fasion.

Where was your boy Pullen? We lost because he didn't show up tonight.

WTF did you want?  not like the recruits were crawling to KSU last year and we just decided to take Herrara and Awaji.

there's no question that the post huggins 2007 and 2008 recruiting was extremely disappointing (outside of the transfers).  nonetheless, given 2009 returns and (very tenatively) early 2010 indications, it doesn't seem likely to be predictive of the martin era as a whole.

right, and that's precisely the reason we suck. you can't simply "miss" a recruiting class and not expect it to bite you in the ass. Success in pretty much directly proportional to how well you do on signing day.

No... it's not about faulting Herrara or any of the others listed. It's about faulting Frank for recruiting them.

oh i totally agree, but the elite and above average recruits knew we where going to regress quite a bit this year after losing Mike and Bill.  when you don't know how many ships (be it 1 or 2) you were going to have, especially in the early signing period, it's hard to entice guys to come.  i dunno, just how i see it.  to each his own.

It's always hard after a three game losing streak to remain positive. And I'm usually the last person in the world to do so. But for some reason, I'm very forgiving of this team and their growing pains. It's just so much better than the last decade in K-State hoops and I know what's in the mail too. These guys can be solid Big XII veterans when it counts in a year or two. Pretty exciting if you ask me.

what's your argument about Frank and Co. not getting two 5 stars guys for this season?

don't know.  recruiting is probably really hard.

Jamar Samuels is going to be a player.  He is already double digit in scoring with around 6 boards per game, as a frosh, with moderate minutes.  Herera has been injured and hasn't seen the court much.  I am disappointed with Awaji but there is still time for him to do more than just run around on the court.  Certainly his athleticism is good.  Anderson has some nice post moves and will be a solid bench player.  Before you get all down on Frank's recruits, remember that we have Judge McGruder, etc coming next year.  Add those to the current players and you are talking about Clemente and Samuels as the only two of this years official class that will be starters next year.  Judge, Samuels, Kelly, MacGruder, Sutton, Pullen, Clemente, Anderson, Brown, of course Colon (for some reason), and then Awaji (if he develops).   Then you can add in the other 3 star guard out of TX and Herrera.  That sounds to me like alot of depth and, with Judge, MacGruder, Clemente, Pullen and Samuels...along with Brown, that sounds like plenty of offensive potential to go along with alot of athleticism.  Stay the course, Fatty....just kind of ride through this year, enjoy the good moments, hope for some development, and that the team can grow enough to maybe make some postseason and get ready for next year.

I think Clemente and Samuels can be/are pretty good players.  Anderson is alright, never will be a star, but a solid bench Big 12 player.  Awaji, not sure yet, but not an impact player.  Herrera is just Frank's boy.  Almost like he was doing the kid a favor and if he helps on the court its a bonus.

Like was said, it appears last year's (Awaji, Herrera) class was more of an aberation than the norm under Frank/Hill.

I'm impressed with Clementes scoring abilty yet disapointed he is not more of a 1.  It seems as if we have two guys (Pullen Clemente) that are 1/2 PG 1/2 SG.  I just hope they can find their role within the team and play to their potential in that role.  Against Iowa Clemente fouled out early and many have been the factor that cost us that game.  Against Oregon Pullen has 8 TO and 2-13 shooting.

These two have to be on the same page in order for us to win.  They will make Kent, Anderson, Samuel and Colon better.

no they won't I wouldn't be surprised if none of them start.  Maybe Judge depending on how his defense is but we're expecting too much out of these guys.  Russell and McGruder are not any more talented then Clemente, Pullen, D Sutton etc.

Judge obviously has the best chance of the three to start.  But I can't see McGruder starting unless Frank goes very small.

Russell has basically no chance to start next year.

I doubt he even sees the court much.  The only thing that will get him out there is Frank's substitution strategy.

I think Kelley will start some games...Judge will definately be a starter...Henriquez will be good as well.

This year's team will obviously struggle on the post, but hopefully the experience will deepen our bench when the more talented players come in.
