You can't be racist and like basketball.

"I like him, he's very smart," Brown said. "He knows his Xs and Os and he's real good with people. But I don't think it would be right to say Kansas State is on my radar."

At least Ron got him to visit.  :flush:

"I'm happy with my high school career," he said. "But with all of the things being said, I don't really feel like I got as much support as I should have. Being from Wichita and Kansas and being a positive influence with younger kids... anything positive that happens, it seems like people are always trying to find a negative to it."

I didn't understand what Brown was talking about, so I asked him to be more specific.

He said he reads posts on message boards that have been critical of him for his play, his attitude and his demeanor.

"They say things like, 'He's not as good as he thinks he is,"He doesn't play any competition', 'He's a prima donna,' " Brown said. "It's like, 'What else am I supposed to do? I'm doing positive things. I'm not on the street, getting into trouble or anything like that."

Thanks for reading the board Bryce!  Tell Butler we (ksufans.commers) love him!

    Hey, basketball!!!
Atleast talk of him taking an unofficial to MHK when Snyder visited him came up.

It looks good to the "potential players" in Wichita. :peek:

    The very best.
 :banghead:

Seriously, we haven't even landed a decent KANSAS kid in 3 years now. Our football program is filled with complete pieces of sh*t.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

    Fear the Brick
what the f*ck did anyone expect:

Quote from: Brian Butler
He admits to having an issue with K-State, but it's a legitimate beef. His argument is that the talent in Wichita or elsewhere in Kansas is just as good as the talent elsewhere, but K-State and ku have historically never embraced this notion.

According to Butler, the logic in the past was why take a chance on a second-tier prospect from Kansas when a passed-over, fourth-tier kid from Texas was available? Send the Kansan to a junior college --"the farm system," Butler said -- and take the Texan, if for no other reason than perception.

Butler -- and both Browns -- take exception with such logic, which was prevalent under Bill Snyder but still exists now with Ron Prince.

butler is a retard.  if a kid out of texas was the top rated player in the country he would start or get serious pt at a major program from day one.

brown bros. not so much.

I am sure the fans at Ou or miami will be super nice and supportive.  they have no expectations at all.

As Sproles can attest, KSU fans are notoriously way hard on kansas kids who play at KSU.  Most fans I know don't even know what Darren is doing now.  they are like "who gives a frack that he had 2 receiving TD's on Thursday?"

I really am not seeing how he can say Kansas State never embraced this notion our best players were from kansas, sproles, Nelson, Newman, Simioneau, Beisel. Im sorry Bryce but that just isn't legit.

If that article is true he is going to have a difficult time emotionally making it through his college career.

He wants to be sucked up to.  Nothing wrong with that, most people enjoy having their ass kissed.  It is pretty transparent though.  Jeezus, look at the '98 teams roster.  It is basically the state of Kansas.

    Gettin' angried up!!!
http://www.hirebrianbutler.com

The guy has basically no coaching experience, and only one of his bigtime prospects is unsigned.  Why would we hire him again?  The second we hired him, any pipeline would cease to exist.  We'd be better off just making ties with him and his development program, that way we would actually be a player for future prospects.

The guy has basically no coaching experience (doesn't have to be a coach), and only one of his bigtime prospects is unsigned (no players are signed yet).  Why would we hire him again(reruiting)?  The second we hired him, any pipeline would cease to exist (no it wouldn't see 'te).  We'd be better off just making ties with him and his development program, that way we would actually be a player for future prospects (best way to make ties is to pay him a bunch of money).

Well, I guess the kids are committed, not signed, but still committed.  And this isn't a DCA type of pipeline.  Butler is the sole organizer of Potential Players, once he stops running it, it ceases to exist.  The only reason I could see to hire Butler was if Bell was a package deal, but I think Bell will listen to his dad and uncle much more than Butler.  Plus, Bell is more of a pro-style QB anyway, so I'm not sure he would be a great fit for our offense.

Bryce Brown = Needy little bitch.  &@#% him.  "KSU not on my radar."  &@#% that.  &@#% Butler.  He says he's pissed at ku and KSU for passing on Kansas kids.  Maybe this type of crap is why.  Just because a kid is good enough to get a sniff from major programs, they all of a sudden think they are too good to stay in state.  Guess what, it is an honor and privilege to get to stay in state and wear the colors of your home team.  Maybe that's not in the cards for a whiney little bitch like Bryce.
Welcome back, Bill.

Is Bryce Brown an Adrian Peterson?  NO.

Most RB's are overrated by rivals.  Who is UT's RB or OU's?

The pass game has eclipsed them.

That's actually a pretty damn good point.  I think its nice to have one who can catch a bit and a FB for blocking and goal line situations but otherwise, bring hardworking kids from Smith Center.

OU has ridic. good RBs, so that is silly to say IMO

We needed some of those unqualified guys to play. They have more speed but RB's are really not as important now.

Our Oline needs to make huge improvements in run blocking. We need a kickass FB.

Ou's rb= not impressive.  Adrian =impressive game changer.
