Unlike Wyoming, K-State had two perfect candidates starring them right in the face. tcu coach Gary Patterson is a former Wildcat player and assistant who has terrific resume, as does Oklahoma defensive coordinator Brent Venables, another former K-State assistant. Both would have been a far better choice for the Wildcats.
