One miracle at a time please
I have not heard any rumors in us playing Wichita State in the near future but I would be absolutely thrilled with us renewing this somewhat decent rivalry. With us bringing in the some great talent next year and Wichita State overachieving but improving, this is a sexy potential match up that I would love to see. Possibly home/away/Africa every other year. I hope the athletic department can realize that this could be an ESPN national broadcasted game that will bring great exposure to Kansas basketball and the Jayhawks will be out of the equation which is always an added bonus!

No win situation to play them. We beat them, big deal...they beat us, BAD LOSS. Thats why ku refuses to schedule them as well.

not a very kstatriotic stance.  perhaps you meant to wave a wichita flag?  grab a fake penguin and hit the arkansas dude, i see right through you.

Dude, WSU lost to UMKC.  If that's overachieving, maybe it's time to fly their basketball team into the side of a mountain as well.  And I can't really imagine any scenerio that would have us playing WSU on ESPN, unless they win the Valley Tournament and we meet in March.  I assume you're joking with this post.  Please let me be right.

Now that's how you get out a f***ing blood stain.
ksu-wsu rivalry lives in closed door preseason scrimmage.  keep it there plz.

It would be nice to extend the all time record against WSU firmly back into a double digit lead for KSU.

Two of their better teams in the last 20 years lost to Jim Wooldridge.

From what is known about the scrim WSU will need another 10 years before they're ready for a matchup with the qatz.

i vote no.  would have been ideal, but when the african dude got sidetracked, that luxury became unaffordable.

Unless they're talking baseball or women's volleyball, it's not like they can really say anything to another fan base without immediately getting reamed for it.  Also, pretty sure the interweb hasn't found it's way to half of the Valley school cities.

*** SOURCE ALERT ***
Apparently, there have been some preliminary discussions regarding a KSU vs WSU men's basketball game being the opening attraction/event at the new downtown arena in Wichita when it is completed. (Jan 2010).
*** END SOURCE ALERT ***

That sounds awesome! And I would just like to clarify with sys that I am a Katz fans born and raised since my fanhood has been called into question. I would also like to clear up the "overachieving" shockers because they were picked to go 0-3 in the Loaded Old Spice Classic but instead they we 1-2 losing to two top 15 teams in competitive fashion and beating a very good Seina team. So what the Shockers did when they went left was IMO "overachieving".
Anyhow the match up sounds like a stellar idea glad I am not the only one who sees it this way.  :kstatriot: Theres your Kstatriot hope i didn't lose you along the way sys.

I wouldn't mind playing the shockers every year closer to the end of non-con play. I wouldn't support playing them on a neutral site (in Wichita) every year, but if they want to play their home game downtown then so be it.

How would playing in Wichita be a neutral site?  If we did play downtown, yeah that's neutral; but where else were you thinking would be neutral?  The coliseum?

playing them in kc would be ok (not great, but ok).  home and homing them is stupid.

I'd go for a 2 fer 1 with two games being in the 'gon and one being "nuetral" in the downtown wichita arena (not part of the WSU season tix).

a 2 for 1 would be fine (anywhere they want, not just downtown), imo.  just not a home and home.

why would KSU want to play WSU?  wichita doesn't generate any quality athletes that would warrant K-State working to get the university some early exposure to kids in the area.

sincerely,

Perry Ellis, Bryce Brown, Chris Harper, Barry Sanders, Darnell Valentine, Antoine Carr, Rashaad Washington, and Lynette Woodard.

listing fball players is pointless to your argument.

ksu doesn't need to play wsu or play in wichita to recruit wichita, which is the point.  ksu is already the home school, the closest high major, and present throughout wichita media without playing wsu, or in wichita.

good point.  ou taj grays wichita too.
wichita is kind of like topeka, whichever team is doing best it seems there are more of those fans/apparel/idiots. No one really cares about the Shockers all that much unless they are doing well.  Always lots of OSU/OU fans.

8 players in 30 some years.  Hell, if that's all we need, we should just say frack Wichita and recruit Conway Springs really hard.

also had korleone young, maurice evans, several players playing at more mid majors like travis walk, javin tindall, a couple of those kids from wichita southeast.  not exactly a recruiting hotbed but there is some talent.
