So basically CatMatt believes that there are only 3 qualified black people (at most) to be head coaches right now.

Buy hey, lets give Dana Dimel or Phil Bennett another chance...

You can't be racist and like basketball.
I can't think of a white coordinator more qualified for a head coaching position than Charlie Strong.

So basically, Chingon is saying, "I don't read Catmatt's posts, I just make assumptions."

And basically, Oklahoma Cat is saying, "Uhhhh, what is that you are saying?  Sorry I could not hear with my head lodged so firmly in my ass that I can suck my sphincter like it was my mother's teat.  Uhhhh, since I don't know jack, I'll make something up."

I never said there are only 3 qualified black people.  I asked ESPN (and any of the dinglberries on this board who care) to tell me who is out there who they think deserves a head coaching job.

If I own a business and no black people are applying, don't tell me to hire more black people.

All ESPN is saying is that the disparity is unacceptable.  No mention of who is out there who is qualified.  Just muttering that this is unnacceptable, thank you.

You fracknuts can spin this any way you want.  My issue is not with black coaches.  My issue is with those out there who call us racist and say that if Prince had been white he would have been given more time.  I argue, as do most on this board who are too chickencrap to say anything now, that had Prince been white he would have never been offered the job in the first place.  We all knew from the get-go that he was grossly under-qualified for the job, but Timmy Weiser's desire to be the first Bg12 team to make such a daring politically correct move superceded the needs of the program.  Then, when it came back to bite us, we fired him and were told by Mark May that we didn't give him enough time.  Do you think Mark May cried for Paul Hackett at USC in 1999 (fired after three years) or Ron Zook at Florida in 2004 (ditto)?

Matt, Charlie Strong has been mentioned a ton...probably more than any white coordinator out there.  Just because he wasn't mentioned the one time you listened to Mark May, doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

There's a lot of other qualified black candidates that are coordinators, but they rarely get mentioned just like white coordinators rarely get mentioned.

Instead of stating outrage when a coach is fired, ESPN should try to promote minority coaches. I have to think that the backlash (like we got from firing Prince) has to turn off schools from taking chances on Black coaches. But maybe ESPN already does do a good job of promoting minority coaches. I don't know I really don't follow sports.

dear lord catmatt, nearly all of your posts here deal with telling black people to shut the f*ck up.

and even the most ardent racist should be able to admit there are more than 3 qualified blacks to run a d-1 program.

Where do you get the racist crap?  All I hear on ESPN is "Hire more black people!" but I don't hear names.  Now, in the NFL years ago, there was talk of the outrage that guys like Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith weren't getting a look at an HC shot.  They listed qualified coaches who were African-American.  Is ESPN doing that?  No, they're just saying to hire more black people.  Which ones?  Give us a list of qualified candidates, but don't expect schools to go snatch the next under-qualified candidate (like K-State did) just because of his race.

I get sick of being called a racist when my history of involvement (in my teaching and the charities I support) speaks the contrary.  I believe all qualified candidates should be given a look regardless of race.  In fact, I believe all qualified black candidatesshould be head coaches right now.  Who are they?  Have they put their names in the running for jobs?  As I said before, IF SO, then we have a problem.  But if they are not putting their names in the running, why play the race card when they are not hired.

You don't need to  defend yourself.  You're not racist.  The idiots calling you racist are 'snickering' at you.

'Racist' label is used by liberals everywhere to try and silence debate and silence people.
