Don't know about you, but I'm just impressed the QATZ were able to put on a comeback in this one.  Took a lot of guts to get back in it.  No big whoop.  Young team, tournament environment,  :blahblah:.

This is the kind of game Frank needs to show the kids how to win in the XII.

Indeed. Very impressive turnaround.  Gumption.  Lots of our guys haven't been in such an intense environment (uk home game) many times.

Not declaring a moral victory here or anything but it's been a looooong time since KSU fielded a hoops squad that wouldn't have rolled over and played dead after a first half like that.  Frank just needs a few more players ... luckily they're on the way.

Definatly a game to build on.  Hope they maintain that and are able to handle Iowa.  :beerchug:

Just as a little follow up.  Most learning does take place after a setback.  These players definitly will be staring down what might have been and become a little more coachable/determined or come to understand just how important every possession is.JMHO  We shall see. :

I don't think Frank will let that happen. We shall see though.  They will rebound quick IMO.  I think they will want to have a better showing tonight.

This team is better than Iowa.  Actually think we will play a little more loose and relaxed on offense.

Frank won't let this team sulk and he'll have this team ready to play.

Should win this one by 8-10.

Huge game in terms of post season implications, nonetheless.

They were pissed last night, so I think they will come out fired up.  Just have to maintain intensity throughout.

here's what i think they will learn:

1. find the hot shooter and put sutton on him
2. stop the lazy stupid ass passes
3. there are no more charges in college basketball
4. intense defense will get you close, but you have to capitalize on the offensive side
5. kent can be decent down low. grow a pair of balls and put it up. chances are youll draw a foul
6. our defense is so good, but since it is, a lot of teams will run the back door on us.
7. clemete and co. can beat a press nicely, but when youre in your half court. run the offense

ill think of more later.

bonus:

8. clemente needs to settle down.he's responsible for the tempo. and when he's a trainwreck, everyone else gets panicked.

So, we lost a tough game to a good Kentucky team that is going to contend for the SEC with Tennessee and Florida by the time March rolls around.

I think we build on this one.  Physical game, hostile environment, showed a lot of heart fighting back in the second half.  Pullen is emerging as a leader.

These people that think uk sucks are completely clueless.

"Physical game, hostile environment, showed a lot of heart fighting back in the second half. "

K-Staters just didn't travel.  Incredibly disappointing when compared to the XMas Tourney two years ago out here.

Better rebounding wins that game.  uk's size killed the Cats.

clemente does need to slow down sometimes and let the game come to him. he cost us with a horrible shot selection.
