no, what it lends itself to is zero discussion, just people having pissing contests about their K-Statriotism. No one wants to talk about why Bill failed, they just answer with "you're stupid" or "you're not a real fan" It's amazing, there were only about 15K in the stands for the North Texas game in '89, yet to hear all KSU fans talk there had to have been a packed house.
I'd love to have a discussion about why Bill "failed" his last couple years. I was there, I remember that it sucked. Coaching had gone down hill, recruiting was a joke, etc etc. but that doesn't mean that if he's ready to make another run at it, k-state fans shouldn't be behind him.
He looked burnt out when he left, and he looked like old school Bill today, which is why I said the 3 years were probably good for him. I'm not saying I wasn't worried either, but after I saw him I realized that maybe it was a competent hire.
I'm sure if you guys were looking at Paterno after his 3 win season in 2003, and his 4 win season in 2004, you'd be saying the same thing, but then forgetting about it after his 11 win season in 2005. His situation is different for many reasons, but it still holds some similarity.
Everybody has freedom to their opinion, and I realize that people follow k-state for different reasons. Some follow it to see winning at any cost, which is cool with me, but you guys need to understand that some people live it for the culture behind it as well, and I felt like giving those fans refuge amongst all of the hate and stupidity being thrown around.
