Interesting what he says at the top of the story.  So, to all the brilliant posters on this board, why would he state this?

because he knows that eventually Snyder will get back to beating Mizzou.

um, maybe not anytime soon...but it is a five year contract so who knows.

He's saying "my god, if I'm that old, please let me have something more in my life besides this, and someone stop me from getting back into coaching, because you’re too old to be coaching when you’re drawing social security. "

he's not saying it because he's somehow scared or wanted bill not to come back.  no one, NO ONE, is truly scared about bill coming back.

big 12 coaches were afraid of Snyder when he had talent.  this team does not have talent.  when you hear coaches say (which you will alot next year) " you have to be scared of any team coached by bill" what they are really saying is, "that fracking team has zero talent, but I have to respect bill".  When bill was winning 11 games a season, they were saying "that bishop/beasley/roberson is a good qb so we'll have game plan for him, and that defense lead by kelly/simoneau/pierce is a good defense".

he'll bring in talent. he's done it his entire career.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

yes.  maybe not sucky coaching, but he had super talented teams when he won at levels that no one (or relatively few) in the country did.  a lot of teams win 7-9 games, not too many win 11 games for as many years as Bill did, but it wasn't because he was "coaching up" Mark Simoneau.

no, but he was finding guys like Mark S., and Terry P., etc... that others couldn't.

btw, have you looked at our defensive stats @ kstatesports from 1999-2003? unreal UNREAL talent on defense. TP had 110 tackles, 20 TFL's and 6 sacks his jr. year. God damn, how can we get talent like that again? I'm so sick of cheering for f*cks like john houlik.

If anyone knew anything about football and coaching, you really dont get scared about opposing coaches.  Maybe, MAYBE, an opposing player.  Not a coach.

2005 was a complete disaster all around. before that, now that bad. moran left under prince, george was pretty good, campbell was pretty good,

but yeah, pretty nice arbitrary period/position you picked there.

oh ok thank you for enlightening us

please share more of your wisdom

they're not going to say "uh yeah, i'm freaking out because snyder owns me every time my team plays his"
but you know that in the back of their minds they're worried, probably because when it comes down to it they know that snyder has put more time and effort into winning the game their about to coach then they have.

it's like huggins used to say he wanted our players to work so hard in practice that they would feel they worked harder than the other team and therefore they should win.

probably no coach in the country is as obsessive as snyder, so no matter who is on the other sideline, they know that there's really no way they could be more prepared than snyder.

it's not arbitrary.  it's the '02 class and forward that lead to Bill's teams not being very good.  I'll be fine with Old Balls if he gets recruiters (and let's them recruit).

stoops/leavitt>m.Stoops>bennett>elliott
mangino>dunn>stanley
venables>gush<beilma>cosh

...see the trend?  I'm fine with bill if he can identify the next stoops, venables, mangino and get them on staff.  I just don't think he can/will.
