    You can't be racist and like basketball.
We couldn't get a competent DC to be our freaking HEAD COACH.

Why would a DC at a team with a shot at a BCS bowl leave for a crap job like Kansas State?  (Unless he was HCIW, of course)

Honestly, I think he would have an easier time recruiting at Kansas State than in Pitt. considering most of his ties are in the Texas area.  Maybe he would feel like a bigger asset?  I'm sure coaching in the Big 12 is more fun too.

I agree PA is the Texas of the east.....BUT...

Whether it is or not, if he does not have ties to any coaches or JUCO programs it's going to be hard to sell Pittsburgh.  Too many other big name schools in that area for PA recruits to go to.  Which is why I think Pitt is usually an average team.  The Big East is not a strong conference.
