I figured it out.   Now it makes total sense.

Lew Perkins did it because he's trying to show potential coaches that ku is willing to spend the money to hire a good coach.  They realize that KSU got Huggin's which will seriously affect ku's dominance in basketball and now they're scared.   They figure that if KSU ends up taking the lead, at least ku would get football back and have something to show for it.

Mangino will be gone at the end of this season.

Sadly, Prince and Co. will have passed ku so far that it won't matter.

KSU will dominate the state of Kansas once again.

please post this at the warzone, or phog.net

ku football threads are pathetic
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I do trust Lew Perkins to make a good hire though.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

I think KSU is soundly on track to defeat ku.  Even if we suffer injuries KSU has shown some depth at several positions. Perhaps except at quarterback. But I think the freshman will grow fast if he is required to.
