You're better off not knowing.  I had my first one in a long time on Saturday...it was the best bad/fake bbq sandwich you can get.  The real mystery is, if everyone knows it's totally fake meat, why do they bother pressing those rib-shaped thingies into the slab?

The company that manufactures the mcrib meat is a client of my company...I've been in the room with them....it's interesting, to say the least.  It is meat, fwiw.  Just not the meat that you'd think.   :drool:

It's a very strange sight.....they have these huge bins of this nasty-brown colored meat (the pork and all the ingredients)...it's like a solid block.  They dump the block into a machine and the machine cuts it into the patties, then moves it down a conveyor belt where it is pressed into the shaped and then quick-cooked in a flame.  The whole scene is disgusting, and makes you pause a few seconds before you take a bite.
