on our boards, and even from myself over the years when KSU screws up a game.

But man ... some of the squawks have gone nuclear.

It seems the Hoops board mentality transferred to the Gridiron board somewhere along the line.

The loss isn't that bad. It was a road game. In TomLight's poll nearly half the votes were for Toledo to win. Toledo was picked to win by 5. We have a freshman QB who is going to make freshman mistakes and we have some of the worst playcalling I've ever seen. It'll improve. Our schedule is kind enough for a young team to get it straight.

South Florida is a better team than Toledo and its in Lawrence. I'm anxious to see how we recover.

Cue the doomsday predictions below...
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

Clearly I am no ku fan, and I will admit I am glad they lost ... but I wasn't dancing around the room either, I didn't see anything that wasn't correctable.

Although I thought on the winning play ku's defense had quit.

It'd be hard to argue with that considering our run defense was decent throughout most of the game.

We let the lard ass run a touchdown in one play.

I actually laughed when we fumbled on the first play of overtime and laughed some more when Meier lobbed up his fade pass asking to be intercepted by any mentally competent defender. I don't blame Meier too much though. He wasn't the real problem. It was the playcalling.

We could have kicked a field goal for the lead in the mid fourth quarter but decided to throw on third down only to be intercepted and they score a defensive touchdown. We could have run Cornish in the second overtime instead of asking Meier again to throw. We were throwing all night(with a freshman qb) ignoring Cornish, our greatest weapon. Thats asking to lose. Toledo obliged.

I'm frustrated but nowhere near suicidal like the drama queens on phog. At least they provide some entertainment to myself and you(mainly you).

Good times.

Saw one guy over there claiming that loss felt as bad or worse than the texas loss a couple years ago.

Maybe they're just so used to losing they all feel the same.

This loss isn't nearly as bad as the Texass one.
