fitz does have an obligation to report everything ksu. it's why he started the magazine and the website. he and that staff love everything about k-state and manhattan and if you can't see that, you're blind. and as i said above, fitz doesn't slight bball recruiting, because he isn't the one doing the recruiting info. it's not his job.

wtf?

never thought i'd have to ask you this, but are you a tard?

:hahano: . no man. and i hate to give this type of answer, but i'm just a fan. ya i work at gpc, but i work at kman too. and i've actually been on this site longer than either. didn't mean to get everybody riled up. i was just trying to give you guys the view from the other side.

ksdb used to make rock music remixes of songs on his computer and post them here.  they were like serious versions of the power towel vid.  he'd ask for critique, get blown up, then get mad/sad.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

"it's why he started the magazine and the website."

Huh, and I thought he did it to make money.

there hasn't been that much action in that area other than russell, and they covered that well when it was relevant.

that's ludicrous.  there are a ton of 2009 and 2010 stories they could investigate.  the only reason we haven't heard them is because there isn't a dedicated ksu site that looks for ksu bball recruiting info.  virtually all ksu mentions circulate down from incidental mentions by natl writers, from other school's sites, or from jeffrey/austin.

hell, gpc doesn't even do easy followups on known recruits.  it's obviously a choice.

QFT.  They could just read the threads from this board and call a dozen recruits that they have never talked to.  They just aren't interested, and they assume that the fanbase isn't either.  (Maybe that's true for the most part)  There are tons of four and five star players that have been linked to KSU over the past two years that they never reported on.  They do dig under every rock for every one offer, 2-star future grayshirt in football though.
Baffling since bball recruiting is way more important and has a quicker impact than Football. Not to mention we pwn at bball recruiting now.

it's nothing to do with choice. first off, it is not the job of cassidy, fitz, or fritchen to get recruiting info- when they do, it's an added bonus. the recruiting insider is gates or crabby or another rivals writer. the staff at PI's main job/concern is to complete their assignments according to whatever sport is relevant. those guys work too hard for the k-state fans to catch so much grief. i know many people are anxious to hear about bball with fball being so down, but in the journalism business, you have to report it all, no matter what the season brings. when bball season is here, i guarantee you will see more info about it. but right now, it's football (now more than ever with the coaching situation). and one other thing that's been bothering me lately- enough about who breaks stories first and how gpc is this and that. obviously this site will break things quick more often than not, but that is because this site is composed of some of deep digging and die hard k-staters. now, that said, there aren't any restrictions to that- if you want to post something, regardless of how true it may be, you can do it. at gpc, or at the eagle, or wherever, there is validity involved. many many times guys like jmart, fitz, and probably meek have heard things just as you all have, but whereas you all can post it just because you caught word, they have to be a little more certain before putting their reputations in jeopardy. and if gpc is for "powertards" why do so many people on this site also subscribe over there and lurk on the wabash station? the fact of the matter remains, their are great qualities about every publication/site we as k-state fans have. i love what j-mart and meek do, i love what gpc does, and im a loyal fan of this site as well and all the fun we have here. each brings a different flavor and a different perspective, so why can't we just live with it and enjoy everything we do receive? anyway, just had to get that off my chest.  :D

All written by a guy who works at GPC a day before fitz does his deal...

Also...pretty obvious that Frank and Co were the squealers on this whole thing.  :blank:

We need one of those "how does so-and-so's ass taste" emoticons.  I would then use it to mock power4purple.

Usually a very good MBB poster...this is a disturbing deviation.

you do realize the logical fallacy in your defense of gpc's lack of bball content?

fitz owns the thing.  he can report whatever he wants, or thinks his customers want.  he could have his entire staff do nothing but bball recruiting if he chose.  obviously, it's his baby, he can do whatever he wants with it, and he no doubt has reasons (maybe good ones) for ignoring bball recruiting.  but don't insult me with with this crap about how he suffers from some obligation to cover all things ksu.  or crap about how he doesn't slight bball recruiting.
ie - Fitz reported, and was adamant, that Tyree Evans was recruited by ku.
