If K-State doesn't force him to fire Tibs and throw the kitchen sink at this guy, I'll be disappointed:

32nd ranked defense in the country, 16th rated scoring defense in the country

you are a "fire tibs" tard?

makes sense.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

It makes too much sense for us to do that, therefore, it won't happen.

I doubt he'd work for Ron, but if we forced Ron to hire him, and we gave him Dalonte money and the Assoc. Head Coach tag....maybe?  :dunno:

    me ten years from now
well if they hadn't given up 27 points to UL Layfette he wouldnt worry me either but it seems to me for ksu 2/3 of their team shows up in a givin moment one game tech it was offense defense against louisville it was defense against layfette again defesve against colorado offense and in the most recent game it was special teams that didnt need to make an appearence.

If Ron stays, they should make him keep Tibs, imo.

It really doesn't make sense to replace the tires when you have a piece of sh*t driving the program off a cliff.

zack put it best.  Make him keep is piece of sh*t tires so we can get this over with ASAP.

    The "other" KSU
How on Earth does anyone rationalize ron staying? A couple of wins vs UT? Great, aside from that - there has been nothing. Nubb happened last yr, we couldn't stop a defense of 9 yr old pop warner bench warmers and we cant recruit anyone. So what is there to look forward to? Another crappy get pumped speech after another crappy year, save it Ronnie and thanks for the memories. A-HOLE!

Well, no s--t Sherlock.  I'm not really asking for them to retain Prince.

However, if they're going to keep him, which is probably what's going to happen, you may as well get the best DC you can because Ron's going to be around for awhile.  This team will go bowling next year, so brace yourself for having him around in 2010.

If Prince stays this year, there won't be anyone new on our sidelines until 2011.  I firmly believe that.

I hate it, but I believe it.

I'm aware of who Prince is willing to hire.  I've been following this just like you guys have fatty...

However, if we're going to have an 'outside of the box' discussion, this is worth mentioning.  Will it happen?  No.  But what's the harm in discussing it?

And, yes, the thought of Koenning getting the 'interim' tag has crossed my mind.  However, I'm sure that if Krause told Ron he was going to hire someone, or he'd be out of a job tomorrow, I'm guessing Prince would be somewhat receptive.

Again, is it going to happen?  No.  But there's no reason we can't hypothesize what could or could not happen.

I give it an 85% probability that BK does keep him around.

Weefer's ego and BK's ego will never allow themselves to admit they made a huge mistake, they'll let it play out to the utter bitter end.

Come on; Weefer actually gets emotional about it . . . that's how much objectivity he has on the situation.

Here's the real issue:  if BK or the Administration are pressuring Ron to get a new DC then we are completely, 100%, without a doubt f'd in the A.  Bobby Elliiott was a terrible coach because he recruited like 2 players in his 4 years at KSU.  Vic Koenning is not going to make Sekona and Ulla not suck.  He may be able to bring in players that dont' suck though, but this is moot because I'm sure Vic will be offered and will take other offers from the likes of Washington, Syracuse, Tennessee before he'll even take a phone call from Ron.

I think 85% is conservative. He'll be back, the guys in Anderson Hall want him to succeed.   Two Cents

I don't doubt that in the slightest.

Again, it was just a hypothetical.  It's not serious.  Everyone knows our next DC is trolling the sidelines at some directional school in the FCS.

The problem is not defense, it's defensive recruiting.

+1 Tibs is one of the few (only?) members of this staff that has conclusively proven that he can deliver ... if he has legitimate players at the level at which he's coaching.  This isn't an Xs & Os problem, it's a recruiting problem.

If Ron Prince stays, I will be depressed.  I mean UTTERLY depressed.  You know how with last season you hit that point where you knew we sucked, and the rest of your season was pretty much ruined, but you held out hope that Prawn Rinse would get his crap together the next year and really suprise us?

Well, we're at this point again.  Sadly, there is no hopeful looking forward to next year.  There is only hopeful looking forward to Ron Prince getting canned so maybe there will be a next year.

If Ron Prince stays, I will be in that depressed mid-season sense of despair ... and it will be a whole 10 months before the 2009 season starts!
