RP and Inge studied the rosters and realized that with the South rotation, we'd be playing 3 "very veteran" teams in Tech, A&M, and OU.  We needed to get an influx of old players so we could match up with them.

That's worked out well.  Tech and OU destroyed us and we beat the worst A&M team in years - who interestingly has shut down most of their very experienced players to go with a youth movement.

Maybe the reason we're not recruiting right now is because they haven't had time to study the 2010 ages of OSU, Baylor, and UT.

the real reason: juco's are much easier to recruit than hs'ers.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

QFT.  After spending a couple years in El Dorado or Coffeyville, Manhattan looks like the freaking Big Apple.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
I think Prince thought he could catch lightning in a bottle by doing something "different", when he's probably a good enough coach to do well long term w/ a bunch of decent high school recruits.

He's just wacky when it comes to recruiting.

How could you not remember that?  It was one of his top 3 talking points of the summer.

I didn't just discover it.  I've been waiting until after we were done with the South teams to bring it up.

but harder to  get qualfiied in most cases...and then they don't make grades and you are left with 15.

the good juco's sure, but the bad ones (who didn't have grade problems in HS, but sucked on the football field) are easy to find qualified.

Dood, don't you think you should wait until we play a couple of games in November?  Seems to me he brought them into to win those November games.

Thanks, Trim.  The funny Prince bullsh*t is one of the only good things about being a KSU fan right now.

*Miss you, Leon.

With potentially winnable games in ku, Nubb, and ISU, I could see Prince declaring his strategy a success.  If we beat Nubb and ISU to round out the season: "We knew we had a veteran team and that our experience would pay off late in the season.  That was part of our thought process when we brought in some of the JUCO players."

Nevermind the fact that you could take sophomores and juniors, play them all year, and by games 11 and 12 in the season they'd practically be juniors and seniors in terms of game experience.

But, I guess we'll have to see if this November plan comes* to fruitition.

*Miss you, Ell.

yep

Especially the ones from Kansas.

And I think its spot on that if somehow Prince manages to win 2 or 3 games in November we'll here all about the transition from JUCO to D1 and how he knew after these guys acclimated themselves this is what would happen.  He has talked about "good teams win football games in November" quite a bit in the past and I think we'll def hear that again in the case of some unexpected wins down the stretch.  And Prince will pretty much be locked in for at least 2 more years.

He wants mature players but is not playing Bedore (may still be hurt), Spex or Alesana Alesana. Maybe he has changed his "plan" since that statement.

I was getting nervous that we were going to beat Colorado.  Losing out seems absolutely critical now.  I'm probably going to lose it if we win a game.

If we win before ISU, I will already have lost it before out game with them.  If we don't, coming so close to losing out yet not being able to pull it off is enough to warrant losing it.
