Anyone catch a read on the article in the "Daily Kansan" titled "Expect K-State football to fall" from the 6th? I'm just back in town and I do a quick scan on KSU articles and this crap comes up. At first I was pretty shocked that someone from 'lowrents' could put thought to words but then thought "this is the type of fuel that needs to be saved for later this year." Seems like this is the type of article that needs to go up in the locker room.

GO STATE.

They're absolutely obsessed with KSU right now.

You'd think the fans and papers that cover a team celebrating their 1st winning season in 10 years, and now fielding a juggernaut reminiscent of 1995 Nebraska would have more to talk about then KSU.

Watching KSU's football program fall back to mediocrity is just very entertaining for ku fans, especially after years of having your success rubbed in our faces.  If you call that obsession, then so be it.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
I don't think KSU has ever been mediocre.  Ever.

What's funny is watching ku fans act like ku is some powerhouse now.

That's funny.

I want to be pissed at them but really just feel sorry for them.  In reality I think they are going to burn over this NCAA thing.

Every team has ignorant fans.  We are not a powerhouse in football.  I hope we are getting better, it seems so, but this season (and the NCAA investigation results) will give us a good idea if our "improvement" has been an illusion or the real deal.  If we go to another bowl, put another winning season, and win the bowl it will be hard for anybody to discount our improvement (assuming we don't get lit up by the NCAA sanctions.)

One thing is for sure, K-State has taken some MAJOR steps backwards over the last few years.   If Kansas Basketball did the same many of you would be celebrating/rubbing our noses in it also its the nature of a rivalry.

    The very best.
ku basketball has mos def fallen a notch with Bill Self.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Yes, it has.  But that's not the fault of Self.  It's the fault of the conference being weak and not properly preparing the ku for squads like Bucknell and Bradley.

At least.. that's what I've read. Over and over.

Even the so called college football super powers have bad stretches.

What gives me the biggest chuckle is when people think KSU will fall back to 0-30-1 stretches, or 5 straight years of only winning 2 or 3 ballgames over that period.

It's not the same at KSU anymore, this isn't 1981.

Hey Squawk, I can live with that statement, will even quote the same on a few Cat Fans, but this is article is in what I believe to be your school news paper. Who would be ignorant enough to light that fire after one or two decent seasons when you are trying to reload your defense and all you got to point to is one win yet this season. Win a few conference games, go to back to back bowl games, hell even win a major bowl played somewhat close to new years day first. This kid from what I have heard ku fans say is a decent journalism school is playing a bit above the rim. With everything going on any chance this article doesn't make it up on the bulletin board in the KSU locker room. I got one message for the author "nice move and thanks for a reason to get even more fired up this year."

I think a lot of people fail to understand how important fan and donor support is in building a successful football program.  We were incredibly lucky to have a coaching genius in Bill Snyder to have lead our program to the college football elite, but Snyder couldn't have made such immense strides without a lot of support from the University - a commitment to football that had never existed.  That commitment isn't going to go away any time soon, and I don't think it's possible for KSU to return to consistent wretchedness as long as many, many people want football success.

But there's going to be a great temptation on the part of the university and donors to shift a good bit of attention and funds towards the hoops program.  A year or two of Bob Huggins and the football program may find itself somewhat attention-starved.

Seems ku played a close one against powerhouse La-Monroe. Apparently the Daily wipe in lowrent has recalled the sports staff back in to work on retracting an earlier article calling on ku alums to reserve their travel packages to the big XII championship.......

Mean while KSU plays a respectful game against a out of conference team and claims no additional glory. Just a continuation of taking care of business and getting ready for conference play this year.
