Said Dodd believes that Patterson will actually pursue KSU.  Dodd supposedly said that he thinks Patterson knows that he's taken tcu as far it can go. With no significant changes to the BCS, and with Mountain West teams having to crap tiffany cufflinks 24/7 to even get a sniff at the BCS, Patterson will want to move on to a BCS school at 48 years old.

Tennessee . . . don't see it, they'll want a bigger fish.  Heck, if I were Duke, I'd be talking to David Cutcliff right now making sure he's firm with them.  Tennessee's offense fell off when Cutcliff went to Miss, and it's fallen off again now that he's a Duke.

Washington . . . maybe, but Patterson is hardly a 'sitting on the yacht sipping wine before the game' type.

Clemson . . . distinct possibility, but after years of disappointments, they may view Patterson as just another Tommy Bowden.

Why would he want to go to Washington.  They have a track around their field.  :yuck:

got an email that said he is the 2nd highest paid non-BCS coach now. He said he looked it up and he's now making $1.3 million/year. If he makes a move, and he'll be on every school's wish list, the bidding will start around $2.5 and then see where it goes.

Offer the man 3m with some ridiculous buyout....it will cost the university far more if we don't.  I hope Kaptain Krause understands this.

have some faith rusty. we all believed huggins would come and he did. remember?

born in rozel ks, can keep his tx connections, and in a weak division of a powerhouse conference. very attractive job if we have a competent AD to sell it.

washington is attractive, but don't think they are smart enough to offer g-pat. clemson is scary, but that's a crap job. there is a reason they've been mediocre U for 25 years now, and KSU is 5 years removed from a DoD.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Why are Washington fans obsessed w/ Jim Mora, when all they have to do is call GP?

I don't see Washington as a legitimate threat.  They will stick with a "west coast guy" and likely go after Boise St's or BYU's coach IMO.

Now Tennessee and Clemson are probably legit threats, but probably Tennessee more.  I think both will initially go after "bigger" names than Patterson though, so we'll need to get while the getting is good.  Those programs are going to think they are "good enough" to snatch another quality BCS coach that probably isn't in a program that has legit annual Top 5 aspirations.  I don't think he'll be choice #1 for those programs, but I think its clear he should be choice #1 for us.  I think that gives us an advantage, even if we don't offer quite as much.

I am the resident "u-dub" expert. Please, believe me. They won't go after GP, they'll go after some NFL retard.

1) I don't believe that Patterson will just go to the school that is the "highest bidder" if that's what you're saying and 2) I really don't think those other schools will have any real interest in him. He would basically be a SLTH for a school like Tennessee (not sexxxy enough). Also gmafb with the Washington talk. Not going to happen.

This is one of those friend of a friend deals, I can't verify it at all.   This friend of mine was told that Patterson has been on campus at KSU in the past couple of weeks.

The source that was indicated in this rumor sounded legit, but who knows.  It was told to me in a matter of fact way.   Anyone else heard this?

Clemson and UW don't make sense from a geographic stand point.  HE's most valuabe to someone in this region because of his recruiting ties to Texas.  Put him on either coast and those ties are less valuable and he's forced to recruit areas he and his staff have no ties too.  Doesn't mean you can't  make it work but it's more difficult just look at Prince for an example of what happens when you and your entire staff's only recruiting ties are halfway across the country.

Tennesee is a better fit but that is a big time job.  There will be a lot of competition for it and I'm not sure Patterson would be at the top of their list.  He was high on Arkansas' list last year but Petrino came into the picture and got the job.   I could something similar happening with Tenn where a more high profile candidate would come out of the woodwork and get the job over him.  I honestly think if we were to pull the trigger on Prince and anty up the right kind of money we would get Gary Patterson to coach at KSU.

Prince isn't going anywhere after his team rolls the Sooners this weekend in front of a stunned sports nation (ssn).  Let the winning streak begin, I say.  No one will, nor can, stop this Ron Prince offense.

Put the rumors to rest.  Jeesh.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Thought I saw him in Rose hill Kansas last year, and I know tcu recruited an OL from here; so they do recruit Kansas.  Maybe he was paying a visit to see about a RB in Manhattan.
