Special teams coach Tim Tibesar received a special shout-out from Prince following Saturday's win. No surprise there. Tibesar's units accounted for all of K-State's points in the nail-biter. Yamon Figurs returned a punt 81 yards for a score; Byron Garvin returned a kickoff fumble 9 yards for a TD, and Jeff Snodgrass booted three field goals, including a 52-yarder in the second quarter.

"We felt that (Tibesar) was the coach that made the biggest contribution to winning this past weekend, and we tried to acknowledge that accordingly on our staff," Prince said. "It was nice for everybody to see what I already knew."

Tibesar came to K-State after serving last year as defensive coordinator at North Dakota, his alma mater. As a linebacker for NDU from 1993-96, Tibesar led the team to three NCAA Division II playoff appearances.

"As a player he was a hard hitter and a hard-nosed competitor, and that's what we're expecting from our special teams players," Prince said.
