Prince also said he expects more from Dylan Meier, his senior quarterback who completed 15 of 26 passes for 163 yards but was intercepted twice.

Still, the first-year coach wasn't entirely displeased with Meier. Prince attributed part of Meier's struggles to K-State's faulty protection and stagnant running game, and he praised the senior for connecting with tight end Rashaad Norwood for a two-point conversion that proved the game-winner.

"He made a terrific play on the two-point play -- very poised, very under control and calm," Prince said. "This is not his first rodeo, not his first time around. He understands the big picture, and we're anticipating very nice things from him. I'm sure he'll come back and do a much better job Saturday."

The Prince era began in unusual fashion Saturday when ISU free safety Tom Nelson intercepted a long throw from Meier on the first play from scrimmage. Asked Tuesday if he regretted the play call, Prince said: "No. I'd do it again."

Earlier, Prince said: "We thought it was a good idea to give ourselves an opportunity to take a shot early in the game. We think that's a very positive thing, and we'll continue to be bold and daring."

I liked the decision too. People wanted to know if his shoulder was healthy and now we know that it is.
