We'll build Mike a big pirate ship like Tampa Bay has in the North Endzone, those folks that sit there than can move so Mike can play on his pirate ship.

We'll even put in a Crows Nest on the main mast and Mike can coach the games from there looking down from above.

Think about it, If Leach wants to leave, he could come here. Remember we hired Huggins when no one thought something like that was possible. Venables is being blasted big time and Stoops brother may soon be looking for a job. Venables and Leach worked together in '99 at Oklahoma.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
JFC, I'm as big a homer as anyone, but this is ridiculous.

Serious LOL material for bb's everywhere.

Rusty, Leach is the perfect "fit" for KSU.  You know it, I know it, and I'm sure Mike knows it as well.  It's only a matter of time.  Quit being a negative nancy and get on board the pirate ship.

Yeah, qft.

We should have hired Billy Tubbs in 2000 when he was interested (Wooly was great though) so this sort of makes up for it.

Billy Tubbs was interested in 2000?  I don't ever remember hearing that.  That's a surprise given all the crap he talked on KSU over the years.  I was at that game in 1994 when he got a bunch of technical fouls after what he thought was a bad call by the ref, and Askia Jones got to shoot like 10 free throws in a row.  Good times.

Know for a fact that he was very interested and was considered. Wefald and Urich thought he was "Too controversial".....Lol the same school that hired Huggy.....I love both Tubbs and Huggins, same goes for Leach....

Is there any reason Leach would go to KSU, other than it being easier to win the north?

Why don't we just hire Butch Davis instead, lol.

crap loads of cash might do it.   How much does Jack Vanier have, and how badly does he want to win?  IDK, just wondering.

At this point, I don't think money will be an issue.

Hunch, or "rumblings" on the openness of wallets?

Let's put it this way.  A lot of "old" money is being carroted around to get this program back to the DOD.

That's a good thing, right?

Yes and no.  It's up the administration to see the signs.   If they want to hang on to Ron (and I'm all for him staying if he can manage to pull this together), then they need to let Ron know he has the money to hire the best assistants to come in here and turn this program around.   I don't think Ron is a bad X's and O's coach, but it's clear his staff is not the kind of staff he needs to produce results.   Part of his job is to evaluate the performance of his staff to get the right people in the job.  If he can't do it, then we need to find someone who can.   For all the glory we put on Snyder, Bill at least knew how to assemble a good staff and manage them.  It was when he got older that his heart got too big, and our staff wasn't as good as it had been or could have been.

Right on the money. I think these days, it's all about staff retention...rephrase that....skilled staff retention.

If he was at KSU, he'd no longer be a pirate, right?

No, he'd turn us all into pirates and we'd begin to pillage the ENTIRE big 12...

Plus he so wants to beat Texas and ONLY K-STATE can beat Texas.
