What is he supposed to say? "Mike Goodson sucks so it wasn't a big deal we held him to 66 yards".  Coaches in the NFL do this too, "We just beat a good football team."


IMO this is a non-issue.  He does exaggerate it quite a bite but still, who cares.

When Snyder bragged on opponents he would say "they are a fine football team, and well coached, etc"...but he wouldn't make comparisons very often based on name dropping or past experiences of other players.

Not that I am backing his statement... but Mike Goodson is a really good athlete I have seen him play several times. The kid is hands down the best player on A&M's team. Once again not trying to stick up for Prince I just think he is a talented player.

I'll add that Ron stated two years ago before anybody knew who Jason Smith was that he reminded Ron of D'Brick.  Posters here laughed....guess who has been SOARING up the draft board w/ scouts?

QFT.  He's not an f'ing scout for an NFL team.  Instead of complimenting all those good players on other teams, spend more time getting asst. coaches who can get those good players to come to KSU.  Like, specifically on defense.  And, like,  specifically at Linebacker.

According to the first post Ron merely said Goodson is as good as anybody he's seen.  What context we talking about here....do you and the others imply he includes the likes of Gale Sayers, etc. or do you think he's just saying in his time in D1 football?

Maybe . . . but you can't deny that Ron has had a lot of "good as anyone he's seen" moments when describing our opponents in the last season and a half or so.
